Coachmen by Forest River Class B reviews

I have owned four RVs this is by far the biggest piece of junk. I’ve had problems with the generator from the start had it to general RV, camping world lazy days of Fort Pierce finally lazy days of Seffner Florida figured out there was an oil leak and kept running low on oil but now still does not run both ACs at the same time called the factory because the paint is peeling on the outside and the cabinets are all peeling on the inside. It’s a 2023 with only 16,000 miles on it. Factory said it’s out of warranty too bad never buy another one Buyer beware Show less

I wish I could give Forest River a big fat ZERO but I can't. They don't deserve even one star, Folks, my experience has been horrible with Forest River and Blue Compass RV who sold the Class C motorhome to me as well as GMC who manufactured the chassis and the engine. When I say horrible, I mean fraud, Breach of Warranty, concealed rust, safety hazards I reported to the NHTSA and there were recalls as a result, leaking propane, faulty LP detector, electrical issues, leaking generator, fuel line leaks, awning not opening or closing, bugs everywhere inside my RV, leaking roof, etc, This is really the most disturbing issue. I bought it brand new. I have paid over $40,000 along with attorney's fees, expert fees and I have a HUGE amount of monetary damages, too and punitive damages to add to that. All of what I just listed, I have only put 167 miles on my new 2025 Forest River Sunseeker. That's right. Let's hope you never have to pay $40,000 for 167 miles. I continue having to pay payments and insurance due to Forest River not refunding me for the lemon they created just for me, I have had dealings with the attorney for Forest River and Mr. Kevin Stratton from Forest River, and with all these problems, during the first few months, nothing has been fixed and they REFUSE to take responsibility. The attorney from Forest River even made light of us sleeping in a motorhome that was leaking propane with no LP detector working. He said that since the propane was venting and leaking to the outside that we were not in any danger. Last I heard, electricity and gas ovens and leaking propane and leaking fuel lines don't mix well. I have had it towed with a wrecker twice now and Kevin Stratton wanted me to tow it again on my dime so they could look at the problems after it has sat over 120 in the shop at Blue Compass. The Forest River Sunseeker has spent over 120 days in the shop and it won't even start. That is right!! It won't start. It is not a battery issue. It leaks noxious fluids all over my driveway and it won't even start. I am afraid that my home might blow up with it sitting and leaking fuel all over my driveway. Almost two years since 5/31/24 I have only been able to use it for 167 miles and yet Forest River denies that they made a lemon. They want to keep my money so they can make one off these RVs for you! I wish my nightmare was over but it is not. Kevin Stratton and the attorney for Forest River are unscrupulous. They won't budge. They point their finger at Blue Compass RV but they manufactured the motorhome. They point their finger at me for not wanting to wait another 120 days for another dealer to try their hand at fixing it. The Lemon Law is of 30 days of re[aor time in Missouri. Blue Compass RV and Forest River and GMC have had ample time to fix it but every issue still remains. Somehow when my motorhome was in the shop at Blue Compass, someone enjoyed putting 284 miles on it without my knowledge or permission. I can go on and on and on. My dreams of traveling the USA have turned into to a real life nightmare. GMC manufactured the chassis and I purchased two extended warranties for my motorhome, very expensive ones. GMC has refused to service my motorhome at every single place I have called. The only reason it was serviced once at a Chevrolet dealer is because they did it as a favor for Forest River. I wish I could have spared myself this misery, Just when I thought I was going to finally see the USA, I sit in my home and wait to be reimbursed for this huge box of evidence leaking all over my driveway that won't even start. I dream of having avoided this Forest River, Blue Compass RV and GMC Chevrolet nightmare. Fraud, Breach of Warranty, concealment of rust, serious and dangerous defects, too. Show less

Our Estrada is on a Chevy frame, it rides drives and handles terribly. The box is cheap and absolutely no quality control. Had they let us test drive it on the highway we wouldn’t have bought it. Huge 80 k mistake. If a mini van passes us it throws the unit quite a few inches, if a semi passes us, it’s quite an experience if you don’t see it coming! No suspension and wouldn’t consider towing any. Anything above 55 mph and it’s shaking. The outside noise is so bad that I put white duct tape on the cab doors so we have to use the camper door. Entire cab area is subpar and less than generic. Show less

We bought our last rv brand new on 6/8/2019 from Richardson’s RV (now Camping World) this rv was built by Forest River in Indiana we love the rv up until this past November when on a camping trip the roof started leaking and on the way home an aprox 45 mile journey the entire roof membrane began to come off I drove surface streets home the rv has been at camping world rv service in Riverside CA since November 10 2025 camping world quoted $9500 to replace which includes an 8 year warranty my question was why doesn’t this rv have an 8 year warranty on existing roof being its not even 7 years old? After almost two months now both Forest River and Dicor (the ones that installed the factory roof) say they can’t honor warranty due to wind damage????the roof leaked and the best argument they can come up with is “wind damage”!im in communication with an attorney and I would strongly recommend to anyone looking to purchase an rv to steer clear of Forest River they don’t care about you or your business Dicor is a joke BUYER BEWARE take your money and business to another rv company Show less

This RV, on a Mercedes-Benz Chassis rides as comfortably as anything you have ever driven, true Mercedes-Benz comfort. The bathroom could be a bit larger, but other than that, no complaints. The Onan generator and on-board LP gas tank are very convenient. Show less

My husband and I have loved traveling the country in this comfortable home on wheels. With power assist awnings and slides, solar power and satellite access, easy tank management and car towing option, we have plugged into shore power at state parks, or stayed out for a week or more on solar power and onboard water/waste tanks. One propane tank lasts all summer. The vehicle's powertrain provides ample power and a smooth ride whether we are in mountainous terrain or putting miles behind us on the plains. Vent fans and lots of windows maintain fresh air inside, and insulated window inserts, window coverings and a heavy drape between the cab and coach help manage extreme temperatures and privacy concerns. The gas stove/microwave/convection oven make food prep quick and easy, a big fridge/freezer keeps two weeks worth of provisions fresh. Ample counterspace plus double sinks makes cleanup a snap. With slides out, there's plenty of room for a workout. Sound systems, satellite availability and multiple TVs provide entertainment options. Exterior cameras make navigation and parking easy. We kept the coach garaged during winter months. No more warranty but a good service shop has kept her in top shape with twice/year inspections and repairs. Show less

I will start off my review by saying I will never again in my life by a Forest River product. In the 3 years that i have owned the motorhome i have had the refrigerator replaced, 1/2 the coach torn apart on the inside for water leaks, i have had generator issues i have had AC module controller issues, i have had an AC fire because of bad soft starts, i have had to get the roof redone for water leaks , my dinette and recliner slide out topper was installed wrong causing damage to the outside structure of the coach which i now have to fix and replace the slide topper. It got so bad Forest River took my coach back to Indiana to go thru the whole unit. It really has been a joke. Show less

We bought this rv used and have loved it. We partially full time in it for work and pleasure. We travel the USA. It's been great. We love the layout. We have had to do minor repair here and there over 60k miles as one does with all motorhome. We found berkshire service to be extremely easy to work with to get parts and support. The online community has also been a great resource. We recently toured a bunch of new rv and decided we like our current floorplan the best. It works very well for us. Show less

I bought my 2017 Berkshire new in 2017. There were a couple warranty items that were taken care under warranty without any problem. The Forest River diesel division is very good and responsive but like many RV the dealer network is only interested in making a sale. Freightliner Oasis have very nice facilities and will do a better job than regular heavy trucks shops.. I do all the mechanical maintenance myself, that way I am sure it is done with care. I am very happy with the engine transmission combo, (Cummins ISL 9 380 hp and Allison MH 30) and they have been trouble free. I am pulling a 5000lbs 2017 Ford Explorer Platinum AWD and over the 32,500 miles I have driven, I have averaged 9.6 mpg with a high of 11.2 mpg with a solid tail wind.. Show less

I bought a this RV brand new and it is falling apart. Front end alignment is way off (still trying to get someone to fix this) a spot in the bedroom floor feels like I will fall through it if I step on it. Storage compartment has separated from the RV and fills with water anytime the road is wet (I expect it will fall out soon) Radio goes blurry. Auto leveling frequently does not engage. (One time it left us jacked into the air delaying our departure by almost a full day) cabinets are delaminating. Shower and backsplash has separated from the wall. The list goes on. We can not get support on this despite multiple frequent attempts. We were sold garbage for a premium price Show less
