2021 Recreation by Design reviews

We have owned this camper since November 2021 and bought used. We have used this camper 12 times now and had a different issue but once on each trip. First trip, the fridge had a bad wire so could not use. A trip this year, they ran the volume meter wire directly into the grey tank and a screw just outside the tank went into the tank causing a leak. Where i live there is only one grand design dealer so I'm stuck buying parts from them. Ordered a new garage door and ir comes without a lock. No where online could I find details about that. The lock cylinder from the old door is not usable so now I'm forced to order another. I would not recommend buying any camper but especially a grand design. Expensive and not built well at all. Have had nothing but quality issues with this camper! And customer service is a joke! Run don’t buy a grand design camper. Slide out in living room won’t go in half the time and the floor under it is bowed not due to water but due to a design flaw using cheap board instead of plywood! Cabinets latches are all broke. It says in a shed and has its whole life. Sky light cracked from screws being installed too tight and roof rolled up all from manufacturer per tv tech! Oh and the repairs gauge for the hot water heater went out the first time I took a shower in it! Show less

Probably one of the best built travel trailers I have ever owned. The build design along with the spacious floor plan makes this a number one choice of travel trailers. In our 40+ years of camping experience, the Grand Design and Winnebago always stood out as top choices when looking for a new RV. Grand Design sure did everything right. Show less

This is the perfect family RV. It's light enough to be easily towed and the whole family can spend time together in this great travel trailer. We enjoyed that at 27 feet we could fit into almost any RV spot at least 30 ft and still have plenty of room. There is plenty of storage space and we enjoyed the outside cooktop, where we could make meals outdoors while camping. One of the best features of this RV was the keyless entry. So, every member of our family had access without needing to have their own set of keys. This RV is an all-around perfect RV for a family that enjoys camping and sightseeing together. Show less

We have owned 2 Grand Design RV's. They are wonderful trailers. We have loved all the storage that is included inside the trailer as well as outside the trailer. The bathroom is roomy enough to not feel cramped. The floorplan allows access to almost everything, except the bunks, when the slide is closed. Show less

Have owned for 2 yrs. Each year atleast 1 shade has broken. Cheaply made. Handles are sharp on cabinets. My wife loves it and the slide was worked on before we owned it. Had 1 blowout on the chinese tires that came on it. Blew out side panels but grand design helped me with replacement parts. They were great to work with. Show less

Highest quality and livability. Construction of the 5th wheel is second to none. Lots of storage and lots of comfort. This camper travels well over the highway and isn't bothered by gusts of wind. The braking system is excellent giving great peace of mind. Show less

Grand Design has built a quality product. The Imagine 2670MK is extremely comfortable for shorter or longer stays. We have added convenience items like a 2nd AC in the bedroom. Tankless water heater for continuous hot water. An 18” apartment size dishwasher built into the island. Pantry pullouts top and bottom. 2nd TV in the bedroom. This RV has had light use. We have just decided at our age not to RV anymore. Show less

We purchased a 2021 ST382WB-R full paint, generator, disk breaks. Trailer looks great but that unfortunately is not the story. Window in living room shattered and then window in entrance door shattered. Both replaced by Grand Design. The trailer springs after 1 year became flat - took months to get replacements then GD only sent enough springs for one Axel. Took months to get from GD, these are Dexter Axels and I found them within 100 miles from my home - no good needs to come from GD. First trip out converter failed - we were parked in RV Park and I had to pay service call and I did get paid back for repair and unit. Front floor squeaks horribly and have been trying for all 3 years to get this fixed. Slide in bedroom floor had water damage and took in for repair and dealer sent pictures but I am out $2400 - this trailer is covered with RV Cover when not in use - less than 6,000 miles on trailer. Prior trailer I had almost 20 years without water damage. Now wood over dining slide fell off - damaged center island - nailed in with less than 1/4 of nail holding wood. All 3 trims over other slides are lose. This trip window in entrance door fell out on highway - hope no one was damaged or injured - seems dealer did not install replacement with inside bracket. Oh, microwave not working properly. Forgot switch that runs inverter that has rubber like cover has failed. Best part, call GD you will get a very nice person but be prepared to wait an hour of so. Guess I am not the only unsatisfied customer trying to get issues handled. This trailer cost well over $100,000 so not bottom basement trailer. I will not purchase another GD! Show less

This 5th wheel was very easy to pull with a F350 Diesel. The design with front living room is able to support 6 people. The couches make out into queen beds with a large curtain separating the front living area from the rest of the trailer. The half bath makes it nice for the people in the front and not disturb the people in the rear. The 5th wheel has solar panels, generator, residential size refrigerator, ice maker and washer and dryer. Show less
