2019 Nexus RV reviews

We purchased a new 2019 Nexus Viper 27V in February of 2021. We have now owned the unit for 4 years, during which time we have driven it 15,000 miles and camped for about 5 months. The unit has been used only by my wife and I, who are seniors and do our test to take care of our things. Unit is stored indoors at all times when not on the road. Our experience We love the floor plan and overall livability of the unit, however we have had numerous problems right from the start. The cab was leaking above the drivers visor, and the cabinetry in the entertainment center was damaged and had to be replaced.. The power inverter/charger was defective The drivers side running board literally pulled away from the body. We also had a water leak in the shower wall. Two trips to the factory “resolved” these issues, however the water leak in the shower returned six months later , this time destroying the floor of the coach which had to be entirely replaced (on my dime). Seems the connections on the back of the shower fixture (which had been “fixed” by the factory before) were installed at a 75 degrees angle (rather than the 90 they were designed for) as a result of the hot and cold lines going around the outside of a framing member under the paneling. Notching the framing board allowed me to properly install the fittings and allowed the hall wall paneling to fit flush for the first time. I also installed an inspection plate to allow access to this are in the future should it ever be needed again.. At the rear of the coach between the floor and exterior wall under the cabinets was a gap more than an inch wide opening directly to the outside. The crossover hydraulic line on the self leveling system developed a major leak-seems the hose was Not supported or tied up in any way. It dropped down on the driveshaft which quickly melted a hole in the hose, Other system hoses were also just hanging loose and had to be secured while the damaged one was being replaced. The drivers side running board is again showing cracking and in need of repair. The “recliner” was not secured to the floor, plus it could not be used to “recline” unless moved to the center of the coach. I replaced this with a wooden bench with extra storage beneath the seat. The water pump failed and had to be replaced, as did the door lock, which failed in a latched position which prevented the coach door from being opened. We are currently “on the road” for the past 4 weeks and during this trip the vinyl on both the cab seats and especially on the dinette has completely came apart with the (very) thin vinyl cracking and peeling completely off its backing-to the point that as of today approximately 30% of the vinyl is gone from the backing, plus the cushions on the dinette have collapsed, so we are basically sitting on a piece of plywood. Also, on this trip the bathroom floor has developed a “soft” spot-as I have no leak from the shower or sink it appears the black tank or toilet seal is leaking. The inverter/charger is again acting up and will need to be serviced or replaced. At this point I am looking at $5-7k in repairs at the end of this trip. Nexus has one of The best basic designs out there, but shoddy construction, a complete lack of any quality control and the use of extremely low quality materials throughout significantly degrade the product. For the record, we have camped for 25 years, have owned a fifth wheel and two travel trailers in the time and covered tens of thousands of miles in campers over the years. The Nexus, in 4 years, has had far more issues that the other three combined. We actually lived in our 5th wheel for a year while our home was being built, and then let my brother in law use it for another 10 months while his home was being built (plus 3 years of camping) and it looked nearly new inside-with zero upholstery issues. We would NOT recommend Nexus to anyone.. Show less

So I purchased my Radiance ultra lite 32 BH in 2019, I've used the camper roughly 20 times and have mixed thoughts on the unit, the Fridge leaked out it's ammonia a month after the appliance warranty was up, it's 2500 dollars to replace, the wall leaked by the sink from the roof at brand new, had to silicone the hole. And the main door pops open when driving because of shifting do I have to have the hand rail folded over the door and locked to prevent it from completely opening. The camper pulls very nice, the weight seems to be well balanced on the axles, over all I'm disappointed in the unit, I paid 62k for the unit new and have had to fix little things and big things IE the fridge Show less

We purchased this up on high recommendations from an individual who had done a lot of research. After purchasing this I discovered that a 90° wall was separating from the outer wall, when standing in the shower it felt like you were going to fall through the shower floor because there was no flooring where they cut out for the drain. The wall issue I have not addressed yet. I discovered two weeks ago that I had a leak the leak was a compartment door because the compartment door is not pushed back against the siding like it should be therefore the sealant kept pulling loose. Rotted the floor and had to replace it along with ceiling the door until I can get it fixed more permanently. Tonight while cleaning up the mess from replacing the portion of bad floor I noticed that the microwave cabinet is separating from the top cabinet. Not sure yet just why this is happening but when I pull the microwave out I'm sure I will see why. Another issue I discovered this evening was the same discoloration on the vinyl at the door that was at the compartment door that had been leaking. I don't know yet if I have a leak there and if I do just where is it at. I really wanted this particular camper in the wife kept trying to steer me away from it and now I know why because it's been a lemon. Show less

Worst camper ever! No where to sit except the dinette, uncomfortable. Bathroom sink is in the main area near the kitchen. Who wants to get ready essentially the kitchen? AC runs non stop, cannot hear the TV. The TV is as soon as you walk in the door, odd placement. And finally, our camper had a soft floor. Tracing the leal, it led to the exterior electrical box, it was not sealed. Water ran off the drip at the top, into the unsealed (oversized) hole under the cabinet and ran under the threshold. Taking the drawer out revealed the oversized hole, extremely large hole and the trash left from construction. Don't fall for the quality control, it is not there. Great floor plan with much comfort. Lots of cabinets to keep plenty of food, clothes and all necessities. We have used it on travels as a couple and as a family with 6 kids inside. lots of space to spread out even on rainy days. LOVE LOVE LOVE the out door kitchen!. I really can not complaint. My husband loved the fact that it is an ultra-lite model and easy to tow with our Yukon XL SUV. We love having a KING size bed in our bedroom. Having the bedroom in the front and the bunks in the back is just fabulous, plenty of privacy. Show less

Bought our Nexus Maybach brand new in 2020. Went to an RV show near us and of all the Class A's we looked at we were most impressed with the overall esthetic look, the chassis, the interior layout, external storage, etc. We had some warranty issues early on that I reached out to one of the company owners about, Claude Donati. He immediately responded to me and put me in touch with his Service Manager Cindy Hathaway. We were invited out to the Mothership in Indiana where our every need was met. Here is an incomplete list of the problems I have had. I purchased this terrible rig at Leos Vacation Center in Gambrills, Maryland. Just about everything that could fail has failed on this unit. The manufacturer has paid Leos to repair things that they just fixed poorly or not at all. It has been a nightmare. The manufacturer installed a TPO roof with PVC adhesive. When the roof heated up in the sun a reaction occurred and the TPO disintegrated. The roof material was replaced on the rig by Leos, but they refused to replace the bump out roof claiming it was installed with the proper adhesive. Leos messed up the replacement roof by cutting the material too short, now the roof is releasing from underneath the gutters and exposing the roof wood. The awning lights failed. Leo replaced them but soon afterwards they failed again. Leos then claimed they were not out, yet they were. I replaced the LED strip myself at my cost. The recliner lighting shorted out. Leos claimed to fix them but did not, I repaired them myself. The wall storage box was installed incorrectly from manufacturer. Leos did repair this properly. The kitchen table mounts broke. Leos replaced the garbage plastic mounts with metal mounts correctly. The ceiling skylights were cracked during the roof replacement. Leos replaced them but then broke the bezels that I had to replace myself. The City water inlet cracked and leaked inside the coach. Leos repaired it properly. The manufacturer installed the ceiling in the bedroom incorrectly and it started to de-laminate. I fixed it after Leos messed up the repair. The awning on the rig catastrophically collapsed. The manufacturer paid Leos to repair it, but one side still is loose, so another repair failure. The gray and black tank sensors are erratic, the manufacturer refused to repair them. The manufacturer took an over counter sink, drilled holes in it and mounted it under the counter-top with clips and screws. They did not seal the laminated kitchen counter however. Leos attempted to seal it, but did it incorrectly causing water damage to the particle board substrate. The manufacturer placed the shower frame rivets incorrectly and some broke. Leos messed up the repair and I had to do it myself at my cost. The slide out somehow loosened and racked. Leos fixed the racking but did not repair the seal correctly, I took care of it at my cost. The dinette LED shorted out. Leos claimed to fix it and charged me for the repair, however they did not fix it and I had to fix it myself so I paid twice for a repair I did myself. There were several more issues with manufacture defects that Leos claimed to repair, but never did, I am just tired of typing. This KZ Venture Stratus SR261VRK is a complete lemon and I will never do business with KZ/Venture nor any other Thor subsidiaries. This ban also extends to Leos, their service is awful in my opinion. Now that I have personally repaired almost all the manufacture defects, maybe this coach can finally be "recreational". Show less

Typical outing is 4 adults and 3 kids. With that said, the king U feature made this camper unlike any other that we have had, especially on a rainy day when we are stuck inside. Great layout. Minor issues with hinges coming loose but easily fixed by replacing with larger screws. Only real complaint is the decals are already peeling off. If your doing your do diligence you can advert any real issue like leaks. Owning a camper means you have to always prepare for the unexpected so that when something does go wrong its just a temporary set back. Smile, relax and enjoy. Show less

We have had two Sonics- this is a great floor plan. There has been absolutely no problems- other reviews are very negative but remember, the positives are less likely to leave any reviews. There is a lot of storage inside and underneath. Show less

This Rv is only a few years old and over the weekend the frame broke apart on the highway. The frame broke above the rear axle and separated the leaf springs from the frame. Someone definitely could have been killed if we didnt have someone tell us that our rv was leaning over to one side when we pulled in for gas. We were 5 hours from home so had to pay almost $2000 to get it towed home. Checked the other side of the rv and the frame had started to crack in the same area as well. A frame repair company said the rv is totalled so trying to get insurance to total it out. In our short 6 months of ownership we also experienced a water leak from no caulking behind the master bedroom window, oven fan went out, ac wouldn't cycle once it reached operating temp, ac control panel stopped functioning, poor sealant for outdoor kitchen causing wood to rot and rear bumper welds broke from putting less than 100lb generator on it.
