Due to weather, illness, infirmity, we have never spent night in thing.
We were seeking reliability review as we wish to travel during intense heat from Texas to New Mexico or Colorado/Wyoming 4 August 2023. With 28K miles
We not ever having gone more than 25 from home in it, are doubting durability of motorhome. We are elderly couple 82-72 respectively.
Are we over cautious to fear a long hot trip in 100+F heat? We fear breaking down between Wichita Falls and Ruidosa, NM
This may be a ridiculous review.

The Coachman Leprechaun by Forest River (Model 317SA) is one of the best floor plans available. The quality is very good for the price point and Forest River is very accessible when questions arise regarding warranty or just needs on how to do something. During our ownership I was able to get all warranty work done with minimal complications. They even solved a slide-out issue that was a mis-measurement on where two of the rollers were placed for the main slide-out. This was a problem that was recognized after the original 1 year warranty expired but since it was a construction error Forest River took care of the repair and the unit was better then it would have been from the factory.
The floor plan allows for a private bathroom with a pocket door that leads into the main bedroom and another access point with a door entrance from the hallway. The bed allows exit from either side which is great because one person does not have to crawl over the other to leave the bed and it makes it much easier to make up the bed. It is a roomy bedroom with plenty or storage space. I would buy a Leprechaun again as it is a great unit for the money.

My wife and I love the Coachman Leprechaun 317SA model by Forest River. We searched for years as I approached retirement to find a floor plan that made sense. The Leprechaun won “hands down” for several good and practical reasons. The bed had access all around it. After dealing with the difficulty of a bed in a pop-up it was important that we could get off the bed without climbing over each other.
The bathroom was smartly located and allowed someone to walk down the hall to the bedroom without walking through the bathroom affording privacy to the bathroom.
We are having to sell our loved Leprechaun 317 SA due to the need to care for a family member preventing us using our RV. A motorhome is meant to be used but we know just the kind we will buy in the future when the opportunity is available again. We will be RV’ing again!!

We purchased a 2015 leprechaun in early 2014...here's my honest opinion of this unit. overall it really has been a decent RV for us. We have 35,000 miles-on it. It came with a 350 ford chassis ... be advised if you plan to tow anything make sure you go with the 450 chasis! The fit and finish inside and out is Not Good but everything has worked. The ford 350 has been bullet proof. Never let's us down. We service this RV regularly and it has never had a roof or window leak.Basic repairs we have had to do are replacing door and shower latches, fix cabinet glass. Do understand it is a Very Loud RV with little to no sound proofing in the cab. Also understand this C class doesn't have a "smooth" ride. The only item we have had to replace of any significance was the bed.It had zero support and had to go.But... we have been to both coast's with it (4) times and use it to travel all over the Midwest to watch our daughter play lacrosse! Its not a luxury RV but it's never left us on the side of the road!

We have spent much of the last two summers travelling in the Leprechaun putting on over 22000 miles. As expected we had some issues. The only one that needed immediate repair by a Technician was the furnace. Had a couple of cold nights. Overall it has performed very well and been very livable. Being a \"C\" and at 33\' we have been able to fit everywhere we attempted. Even the Alaska Hwy didn\'t beat us. Warranty work has been trying... mostly due to the long wait to get repairs started then the wait for approval. Overall no big complaints with Coachmen or the coach.

Excellent floor plan, very nice quality. RV drives excellent I only wish the turning radius was little better. Ford nor Coachmen put very much effort into cabin quitness so I had a sound company do that for me since I moved from a diesel pusher to this class C the engine and road noise was an issue for me. The cruise control is way too aggressive and Ford knows this but they don't seem to be doing anything about it but they say the transmission is a "smart" transmission so with non aggressive driving thats supposed to be improved... jury still out on that.
That is the only issues- overall its a fantastic RV that I would highly recommend. In my opinion nothing comes close to overall floor plan and quality for the price.
