I often get asked why we chose an 18-year-old motorhome, and my answer is simple: because they don't make them like this anymore. Our 2006 Monaco Diplomat 38PST isn't just an RV; it's a testament to quality construction, incredible engineering, and the freedom of the open road—without the hassles of modern emission systems. When we purchased this coach in 2023, the odometer read an unbelievable 6,000 miles. Some called us crazy for buying a "vintage" diesel with such low miles, but we took the plunge. After a meticulous tune-up and installing Brand New Hercules Strong Guard HTL Tires, this Monaco has been absolutely flawless. We've put 7,000 miles on it in two years—from the plains of South Dakota to the peaks of Banff—and have experienced ZERO mechanical issues. That proven reliability is why I love it. The Sweet Spot: Size, Power, and Comfort The 38-foot length is pure genius. With the three slide-outs open, we have all the residential space a couple could ever need, yet it still fits comfortably into almost all State and National Park campgrounds. This gives us access to places bigger coaches can't reach. Underneath the beautiful full-body paint is the legendary power train: Pre-DEF Cummins ISL 400 HP: Power without the Diesel Exhaust Fluid hassle. This engine is a proven workhorse that laughs at mountain passes. Roadmaster Chassis & Allison 3000 MH Transmission: This is the gold standard. The Roadmaster chassis provides a smooth, stable, car-like ride, and the Allison transmission shifts effortlessly. It's a true driver's coach. Interior Upgrades that Make it Home Monaco's construction is known for its quality wood cabinetry and solid surfaces, but we customized the living space to make it perfect for us. Swapping the factory sofa for a cozy recliner loveseat turned the living area into the ultimate relaxation spot. Add in the new Queen Mattress and porcelain toilet, and you realize every essential comfort has been addressed. This motorhome has taken us on the trips of a lifetime, including a recent 3,000-mile journey through the Tetons and Yellowstone. It handled every road and elevation change with grace, keeping us comfortable the entire way. If you are looking for a reliable, turn-key, low-mileage coach from the best era of diesel pushers, our Diplomat is truly exceptional. We are sad to see it go, but excited for the next owner to create their own incredible adventures in this meticulously kept machine.

Monaco has always in my opinion, been one of the leaders in RV’s for overall quality, workmanship, support, and bang for the buck. My experience with the Dynasty 42 Diamond IV has been very enjoyable, both from a driving standpoint as well as a functional standpoint. The coach is such high quality that you don’t have to deal with all of the constant annoyances that are present in lower price, lower quality units. The drivability of the cushion air ride chassis and suspension make it fun and easy to take this large coach with tow vehicle anywhere you want to go with confidence. The customer support from Monaco is always there when needed, everything from locating dealers to troubleshooting, so you’re never alone. As I said earlier, it’s just more bang for the buck, which is more important now than ever.

This is by far the best RV we ever owned. We have owned 6 different RV's. When we researched to purchase our RV, "to go full timing". We looked at 65 RV's and took notes on all the different ones offered. We fell in love with Monaco Medallion. With its metal stud construction, multi layered insulation, with gorgeous woodwork throughout. With two sliding glass french doors seperating the living room from the kitchen, and the fireplace. We were instantly smitten. Then the fact it was completely self contained. With a generator and 200 watt solar panel. We were good to go. We have since taken it Boondocking, and have spent winters in sub zero temps. And we were snug as a bug. Unfortunately they stopped making these well built classics. we have looked at all the new rigs and were nothing but disapointed in the lack of quality and workmanship. 2006 36ft. Monaco Medallion

It drives great with good power and decent milage. The living area is spacious and plus. Very user friendly. The kitchen is great, large shower, a lot of storage, and an outrageous room with a recliner and a computer desk. We have upgraded the tvs and entertainment center. We even upgraded the outside tv. The basement storage with pass through bins and pull out makes it easy to bring all we need for extended traveling. I can't over exaggerate this beautiful and functional motor home.
