We have owned this RV since new and the 1st thing I had to do was mouse proof it by spraying foam in the opening underneath and then had to add a door in the storage area to get access to the water pump. When I cut to add a door I saw just how well hidden the poor workmanship was as saw dust left behind and hacked out hole on most of the places where line past through. Knowing the steep asking price you would think they would pay a little more wage to hire a staff that cares. Never did talk to the factory about warranty just had to go back the dealer for a manual back-up front jack access hole and to replace the sound system that the speaker never did work right or sound good as far as clarity. From my experience and reading reviews on the workmanship of the cougars and although the floor plans did almost sell us we decided to stay away from them. Lyle

ORV Manufacturing has the best customer service; I stopped calling the dealership and if ever a question arises, I can call ORV and get help ordering a part or making an adjustment. Very well built and solid platforms are what make ORV products stand out from the mass produced trailer factories in Indiana. These trailers tow very well and although heavy, they are well balanced. Components are industry standard ie. Coleman Mack, Lippert, Suburban, MaxxAire, etc. but the bones of these trailers are what is special and what makes them maintain value.

We purchased our unit in the fall of 2020, after extensive research we finally found something that was built for 4x4 off road quality. We did two trips with the RV less than 1200km on gravel road. We took our time and were very careful with our unit. On our first trip the microwave came out and the heater vent screws came off. We had the unit parked in our back yard drying out our awnings when the back awning broke off, only two screws were holding it secure on the unit. Our 2nd and last trip the hoist for the spare tire that is located underneath in the front of the unit failed causing the tire to bounce underneath causing major damages including water storage tank and suspension. When we finish our trip there were more damages inside and outside of the unit. Our unit was filled with major dust and when generator was used the carbon monoxide alarm would go off. Damages were... freezer door hinge broke, microwave mounting, range, drawers, cupboard doors, sewer hose storage, trailer break cable, counter top extension, missing screws on wheel fenders, broken sewer door lock and sewer handle. We called our Dealer and they said everything is covered on warranty. So we dropped it off at our Dealer for warranty repair. Outdoors RV response was... "We have reviewed warranty repair request as well as the photos you sent. Outdoors RV is respectfully declining all of the listed repairs, as the damages are caused from extreme use and not due to defects in materials and workmanship." Outdoors RV basically said without proof that I extremely used the RV How? by going on gravel road is "EXTREME USE". If extreme use was really what I used it for I'm positive the sensitive areas of the unit would be damaged, like TV mounts etc. We were devastated to hear this from Outdoors RV especially after all the research we did trying to find an 4x4 off-road unit, we thought that Outdoors was the real 4x4 off-road unit, this is why they created the Trails Series. Don't be fooled. So buyer beware that warranty should be fully guaranteed when you are spending 80k on any RV unit. This is not the case with Outdoors RV, I didn't get my moneys worth nor did Outdoors RV hold up to the so called 4x4 OFF-ROAD craftmanship warranty. When we did our research we relied on reviews like this, so this is why I'm writing this review so buyers looking for a 4x4 Off-road RV need to beware of false claims to 4x4 Off-road and look out for the poor warranty coverage.

Definately a disappointment. Loved the floorplan and design with all screen and glass back doors but can not use with ramp down due to the gaps and the bugs that come through. We were told to adjust the doors but if the gaps are both above and below the doors that is not a solution. Manufacturer has not been helpful on this problem and we can not use as intended. Drove from Iowa to Colorado to buy, for a 3 month trip through Canada, Newfoundland...but could not enjoy the open back and windows. Don't buy unless you can fully investigate all the sills, or you will be a smorgasbord for mosquitos and bugs. If the sills actually worked to keep the bugs out the livability would be 5 stars.

Incredible high quality construction by Outdoors RV, and it's the perfect length to give enough space to be comfortable while still being short enough to easily maneuver into boondocking spaces and National Parks. The onboard generator, dual rooftop solar panels, huge water capacities, and extra thick insulation make for a 4 season camper like no other!

We purchased the trailer in Boise ID. and on the way home the siding popped out. We tried to bring it back but was told no its a warranty issue. Purchased on 4/2016 was repaired by 7/16 but siding repeated problem towing home. Also the front leaked and ruined mattress. Found out by another RV repair that the framing had been cut out to put in the stairs. Frame sagging, siding popping in and out, front leaking and axles leaking. Back to factory delivered back 1/17 front leaks still leaks. No reimbursement for Insurance licensing and lack of use, only a new mattress. Gulf stream exec stated they went over and above to cover warranty issues. This trailer could of fell / broke in two and killed us or someone else. The frame and axels had to be replaced and leveled. These issues were not warranty issues but incompetent mfg. issues. I don't have enough room to talk about Ms. Diane and their warranty dept. This was a brand new trailer when purchased but we weren't able to use it for 10 months. He asked me for a list of costs etc.incurred on all these issues and we sent him a very accurate list of costs, what a waste of time. Like I said they did buy us a new mattress but stated they went above and beyond to fix the WARRANTY issues HAHA. Please do your self a favor and never purchase any of there products. Also does anyone know a lawyer that could help me get some justice on this death trap. I have kept all communications with Gulf stream and I could write a book on the misery we incurred when we wrote the check for this death trap. Its not over we still have it !!!!

We have had issues since buying this RV in April 2015. The slide out had a loose nail that damaged the floor in the kitchen. One sideout stopped working the motor had to be replaced. The A/C Unit went out in less than a year on. The lights in the camper have been fixed about 5 times because they start acting like strobe lights. The ice maker on the refrigerator was not properly hooked up and we could not get ice.. Now we have had to take it back because the roof started coming off the top while going down the road. I would never buy another Gulf Stream product.

Wipes on slides do not go out when slide is opened. Have to push them with stick to go out. Gulfstream couldn’t tell me how to sanitize the potable water tank. Numerous trim pieces had to be re-secured inside trailer. Can’t adjust air flow to burner on stove, burns with yellow flame. Ceiling fan/vent had water leaks. Trailer running lights on back had water leaks. One side window had a water leak. I had to caulk all of these places. Found staples above refrigerator slide were scraping the roof on the slide, digging a groove in the roof material. Had dealer remove/cut staple ends. Electric heating on hot water didn’t work, needed a thermostat. Shower had numerous leaks around base. Water leaks into basement from shower. Laminate siding on bathroom door is pulling away from frame. Venetian blind by kitchen sink had to be replaced. Second slide scrapes across the linoleum. Pin holding side support to steps fell out, shortly thereafter another different pin fell out. Carpet edge is tearing away from carpet. None of the waste tank indicators works correctly. Dealer had to replace black tank, a 2 inch screw from the flooring was screwed into the tank. Dealer’s repairman found shop towels in black tank after draining it. Water safety electric outlet had to be replaced, lost one electric circuit until outlet was replaced. Both sink faucets had to be replaced. Awning and awning motor had to be replaced. Found out nose insulation was not installed all the way to the roof. Bedroom got hot when sun shined on it. Reduced advertised R-14 insulation to R-1. Currently trying to get Gulfstream to fix this Manufacturing defect.
