I have not had my camper since July 11th and they are telling me it cannot go in to be repaired until Mid February. So I have no camper that I make payment on and no on really cares at all. Forest River will fix it at their leisure... In my mind they should of replaced it. Worst Company Ever!!!!!!

This camper is a complete nightmare. We purchased it brand new in 2022 and were blinded by how "beautiful" it was. We were naive new camper owners who did not know what to look for. Every time we go camping, something breaks or falls apart. Tons of trouble with electrical components in the camper, none of the USB ports work on the inside, and some of the outlets do not work. The buttons for the electric jacks have broken 3 times in the 3 years we've had the camper. The awning is coming unattached on one side. The shower has leaked out the corner of the floor since the first time we used it. The biggest issue that we have run into is that the storage compartment door on the underbelly storage was installed incorrectly from the manufacturer (according to a service tech who looked at it) which caused a leak. The leak has now caused floor rot. We got a quote to fix this and it was quoted to us at $8000. This is INSANE! When I reached out to Forest River about getting this replaced as it was due to faulty install/manufacturing, they stated that because the warranty was over there was nothing they can do. They do NOT back their brand and they do NOT care about customer service. Run far, far away before ever purchasing a Forest River.

Model: 2024 Forest River Salem Cruise-Lite 28VBXL Pros: Family‑friendly floorplan with bunkhouse and king bed Good storage and outdoor kitchen setup Manageable towing weight Cons: Slide‑out malfunctions (multiple failures) Bed collapse and soft spots in flooring Microbial contamination concerns Six extended repair shop visits, leaving us with less than 15 days of use in over a year Warranty and Forest River communication dismissive and misleading Bottom line: The layout is appealing, but the execution has been a major disappointment. Reliability issues and lack of accountability have overshadowed the positives. We cannot recommend this model based on our experience.

Well let me start off by saying we had a Prowler as our starter camper. It was great but there were many things that we noticed after buying it that we wish we would have had. Like dual air conditioning, instant hot water, and a little bit more space in the bunk room. We went to a RV Show last December in Novi Michigan and fell in love with the Forest River Wildwood 31kqbts. We instantly implied to see if we could trade our old one in and get this one and we were approved. We took delivery of it in December of 2024 and we got it from Funtown RV in North Branch Michigan. Upon picking it up I made the mistake of believing the inspectors that they ran water through it and did all the proper checks. Fast forward to April 2025 we took it out for the first time. So when we first hooked it up we had furnace issue. The furnace would only fire up once and then upon cycling would never get hot again. Also hooked the water up and had water leaking out of the outdoor kitchen. Found loose plumbing and also it has a sink with a drain that slides in and out with the slide. It was a hard PVC plastic and it was completely broken half. Upon walking into the camper we tried the first sink faucet in the kitchen and it shot water out like 8 ft. So I had to go buy a new faucet instantly. $200 later I went to install the faucet and when I looked under the sink the drain pipe was not even connected. I could not even make it connect because the pop was too short so I had to go buy a new PVC and fix that as well. Upon getting the faucet and drains fixed we had zero water pressure although we had water pressure going into the camper. Come to find out all of the sinks and faucets screens were completely clogged with PVC trash from the build. So we finally cleaned all that out. This was a trip from Nightmare as we had no enjoyment at all because we were cold and barely had water. So on the next trip we noticed water leaking in two different spots outside of the camper. Come to find out this thing was not winterized properly and a piece on the instant hot water heater had busted and water was Dripping under the camper. I must say Funtown RV were very good at getting someone to repair the camper. Here we are in August 2025 and I'm currently at a campground in Ohio. Suddenly there's I raised spot in the floor right by the kitchen. Part of the subfloor is coming up and that's a major fix because these campers have a one piece linoleum floor that is put down before the walls and cabinets are built. I just got approved for the repair but it is a major repair and my camper will be at Funtown RV all winter. I love the looks of this camper and I love the functionality of everything but I must say I never my wildest dreams thought we would have so many problems. I would personally steer clear of this model because it's new. And clearly these things are built entirely too fast with no proper inspections.

This camper has been one problem after another. Factory installed slide topper too low and was collecting water and had to be replaced . First letter received stated that they couldn’t be out in the rain. So slide outs have to be retracted when it rains meaning you can’t use the rv. They did finally fix this after the dealership fought them on it and they put a metal strip over the holes on the side of the camper and again had to insist that this was unsatisfactory for a brand new rv. They finally fixed this after months of back and forth. During this time the fireplace would over heat and shut down causing a hot electrical smell. Took it back 3 times to get this looked at and after the 4th trip they replaced the fireplace. Seemed that an electrical fire was not a priority for them to fix. Rear and front jack lights don’t work, after it was taken to the dealer to fix. While having our tv for the winter the did fix the holes in the slide and when I picked up the rv in the spring the roof had leaked in a couple of different places and cause water damage in the roof. It was confirmed that it was faulty worn from the factory. We have missed a couple of trips and have lost deposits and non refundable camping sites. Because of the need to tow my rv during the winter months we are now seeing rust on the leveling arms also. We have tried to work with Forest River for months on getting this worked out and their answer is to ship our rv to Indiana this fall and replace the entire roof. Today we are experiencing more electrical issues of gfi outlets randomly tripping with nothing plugged into them. We asked to have the RV replaced serval times and Forest River will not entertain the conversation even though I have stated that the level of water damage is bound to cause future problems and that this is clearly an rv that was poorly made and will continue to have problems.

I tried to talk to the manager Chris dietrich and thats a one way conversation and NOT in your favor the service department is all lies same with Chris dietrich. Then I get forest river involved and they lied to me and said they had no contact with Chris and had no knowledge of what was going on and that was a lie there were so many problems the manufacturer took it and they had to basically rebuild half the rv leals ,mold, slide problems, solar problems, batteries blowing up, water heater problems, countertops replaced, stabilizer replaced, stains, and just a ton more then they want to give me 3 grand for rolling junk that I paid 43,000.00 and I still haven't even sat on the bed 1 yr and 7 months later we just got it back and the door to the bedroom is broken and do you think anyone will respond to an email nope and now no warranty and no help they just want your money A BUNCH OF JUNK ,LIES, AND THEIVES

There are a few Cons about it. 1. The bathroom is too small and the shower inside is worthless. 2. You cannot pull out the shelves in the fridge because the bathroom door is in the way. Bad design. 3. The fold down futon sofa is too hard on one side and too soft on the other. There is no good fix to make it comfortable. 4. The fold down bunk only holds 100 lbs... So not good for a bigger child. 5. The solar does not run the A/C. Other than those complaints, we are happy with it because it serves our needs. We didn't need anything fancy and spend most of our time outdoors. Most of the time, it is just the two of us and the dog.

Wonderful RV! I love the design from the huge windows on every side, to a slide out that has a hidden bunk/office/storage space behind the decorative shelving. You can use it at your will. The bedroom design is perfect you can switch between 2 twins to a king bed with windows on all 3 sides. The optional solar panel is so convenient for extra juice to the battery and some appliances and offers to upgrade easily for a off grid adventurer. Electric awning with light strip for easy late night hanging outside. Even comes with a outdoor shower and a flat top gas grill outside the RV in a easy stow away cargo spot. The power tongue jack makes hooking up and leveling down a breeze. Easy to tow and go!!!
