Model: 2024 Forest River Salem Cruise-Lite 28VBXL Pros: Family‑friendly floorplan with bunkhouse and king bed Good storage and outdoor kitchen setup Manageable towing weight Cons: Slide‑out malfunctions (multiple failures) Bed collapse and soft spots in flooring Microbial contamination concerns Six extended repair shop visits, leaving us with less than 15 days of use in over a year Warranty and Forest River communication dismissive and misleading Bottom line: The layout is appealing, but the execution has been a major disappointment. Reliability issues and lack of accountability have overshadowed the positives. We cannot recommend this model based on our experience.

Wonderful RV! I love the design from the huge windows on every side, to a slide out that has a hidden bunk/office/storage space behind the decorative shelving. You can use it at your will. The bedroom design is perfect you can switch between 2 twins to a king bed with windows on all 3 sides. The optional solar panel is so convenient for extra juice to the battery and some appliances and offers to upgrade easily for a off grid adventurer. Electric awning with light strip for easy late night hanging outside. Even comes with a outdoor shower and a flat top gas grill outside the RV in a easy stow away cargo spot. The power tongue jack makes hooking up and leveling down a breeze. Easy to tow and go!!!

I repeat do not buy one of these units. We have a Salem bunkhouse which we bought brand new from. Camping world neither camping world or forest river will back their product this travel trailer has basically fallen around from us. Our first trip out shower floods the floor blinds don’t go up and down. Water traps left out of bathroom, zinc, damage underneath, zinc in kitchen outside big gaps in trailer just basically pearly made, and they don’t stand behind their product please don’t bother this product. You will regret buying it. We are sitting with a white horse that we paid a tremendous amount of money for that cannot be used. Forest River has given me the runaround and refuses to fix it.

I am writing this review in hopes that anyone who is searching for a RV travel trailer will stay clear of Forest River. I am not sure what type of quality assurance process they have but maybe someone needs to evaluate that department. We purchased a new Forest River Wildwood Platinum 29BUD floor plan RV and have had nothing but issues. This was our first RV so we were not sure what to look for, now I know! The screen door does not latch there is a gap between the door and the frame. The RV bathroom has done nothing but leak since we used it, sink leaked, coupling not attached to water hose. Shower leaked, not only was it not calked properly but the hose coupling on the water line was not seated properly. The gas heat works when it wants too and the bed board in the primary bedroom broke in half!! This is unacceptable to manufacture a product in this manner. Does this company not even care that people spend their hard earned money, I understand that we did not pay 100s of thousands for this RV but 30+ thousand was a lot of us. POOR Quality. I wish the list of ratings were more along the actual product quality. We choose the floor plan so that would be on us if we didn't like it. I'm sure it tows as any other RV trailer, over all quality does not say it all.

Not well made, pretty sloppy work. My husband has fixed the bathroom cabinet latch, sawdust everywhere. Don’t they vacuum up their messes? Kinked hoses…. He fixed the kinked water hose but when he went to flush water into the grey/black tank the next day… after we have used the dump station at the state park, that hose was also kinked. Then water came in the camper. He opened up to investigate and that white hose was also kinked at a 90 degree angle. Also the top of the water heater/tank was covered in an inch of dust. It’s headed back to the dealer. Hope we don’t regret not buying a different brand!!!!!! This may be just the start!!!!!!

The unit worked really well for our family of 4, lots of room, beds had great sizes kids really liked that and having the two bathrooms was a huge perk, especially with teens.

Heater and ac work great! Also I recommend upgrading the bed in the master room. But I recommend that in any trailer of the 3 we have owned. Also the amount of room and tie downs in the garage are amazing!!! Fits our 2019 Ranger crew northstar XP1000 in nicely! 👊 🇺🇸 😁

It is ideal for a single family. Lots of storage space. Very nice living quarters. It has an electric awning, however the down side is that unlike traditional awnings, it can not be anchored down, therefore must be retracted when not using the RV. Ceiling fan in living room truly helps to evenly circulate heat and A/C. The windows in the 5th wheel area allow for plenty of sunlight; unfortunately do not open. The exhaust fan in bathroom is extraordinary, if you open the windows in living area and turn on exhaust fan, within minutes, the entire RV is cooled down.
