This A framed camper sets up in seconds, it tows like a dream, no wind resistance and has everything you need. The king size bed is very comfortable, the dinette table folds down and forms the base for another single bed. Keep warm or cool with the furnace & air conditioner. The flushable toilet and cassette are very convenient, don't need to disconnect or bring trailer to waste station to dump. Has lots of storage space and nice outside barbecue that hooks to the side of unit. Can easily be towed by most SUV's and pick up trucks. Spare tire is also handy if needed. This unit is easy to winterize and store. Overall I do love this camper, no complaints and everything works well. No leaks. Nice interior lighting.

One of the standout features of the 1973 Fiberglass Alaskan Camper is its lightweight and aerodynamic design. Weighing around 1,300 to 1,400 lbs, it’s incredibly easy to tow, making our off-road adventures a breeze. The low profile and reduced sway provide confidence on backcountry roads here in the desert southwest, and the camper's compact size allows our family to park it in places we wouldn't have been able to with larger rigs. The interior is surprisingly spacious, with a 6'3" ceiling height when fully raised. The panoramic windows and roof vents bring in ample natural light, creating an open and connected feel with the outdoors. The versatile sleeping arrangements are a huge plus, offering the option of either a full-size bed or two twin beds, depending on your needs. Another aspect I appreciate is the blend of vintage charm and modern upgrades. The original amenities, like the stainless steel sink and 3-burner stove, have been well-preserved, while custom enhancements like the new wood floors, solar panels, and propane heater have made camping more comfortable and efficient. Despite all its positives, there are a few aspects of the 1973 Fiberglass Alaskan Camper that we found challenging. The limited storage space inside the camper can be frustrating, especially on longer trips. While the camper’s compact size is great for maneuverability, it also requires strategic packing. To address this, we built a platform on the roof of our truck, which made packing extra items for long trips much easier. Surprisingly, this camper was built so well that we've had minimal repairs. We did fix the hydraulic hand pump system, but it rarely needs maintenance. The mechanical nature of the camper, without modern electronics, means fewer complications and no constant need for upgrades. A notable downside is the lack of a built-in restroom. However, with the variety of portable toilet options available today, this hasn’t been a major issue for us. These portable solutions are convenient and easy to use, maintaining comfort even without a dedicated restroom in the camper. There is a designated spot for a restroom if you wish to add one. Lastly, while the camper is excellent for off-road adventures, its vintage nature means it doesn’t have some of the modern conveniences that newer campers offer, such as built-in entertainment systems or advanced climate control. It’s definitely a trade-off between classic charm and modern comfort. The 1973 Fiberglass Alaskan Camper is a unique and reliable option for those who appreciate well-made vintage designs. It’s a fantastic choice for off-road enthusiasts and anyone who values maneuverability and style in their camping setup. Despite a few quirks and challenges, it’s been a great companion on our adventures.

considering the reputation that Black Series HAD before being bought by the Chinese ,it's an absolute shame what Black Series has become. Granted ALL RVs regardless of the manufacturer are ALL trash, the key is finding a brand which is the least piece of garbage.. Black series , in theory, was at the top of the least Pile or so I thought. The build quality is at best a "20 footer"... at 20 feet, it looks great, but as you get closer the build quality leaves you with a "What were they thinking when they put this together..?". Zero attention to detail when it comes to fit and finish , never tested the plumbing to determine how many leaks are present .sub standard no name inverters, take a close look at the welding points on the frame and suspension... must have been completed on Monday, Thursday, or Friday ? All this disappointment for $50k... Factory support?.. yeah good luck.. the burden lies with the dealer.. all I can hope for is a lightening strike and GAP insurance ..

The large windows that open wide to let the fresh air flow through and the panoramic views around the dining table sold us on the model. It has a full slide out, out door kitchen and a bed room and a full bathroom that has a bigger shower than our home shower. The fact that you can take it off road with Independent suspension to camp surrounded by nature makes this trailer our favorite ride yet.

A few quirks to work out, the warranty dept is doing better to address all issues. As long as we're boondocking we'll never go back to a normal trailer. Biggest con is it isn't 4 seasons. We love our black series and the price point makes it doable for many more!

HQ-21, Flagship of the fleet of “off road”caravans from Australia. Although massively large and requiring a 3/4 ton beast to pull it, the trailer will handle more than most 4x4 trucks will dare. With a suspension setup and six heavy 16” truck tyres that would humble most military vehicles, yet it is manageable on the highway. Lots of ground clearance, skid plates, a full 2x6 frame that has welded gussets, and even extraction points on the rear that are rated for over 10,000 lbs. Trailer is designed for off grid use with solar and 400amp hr of batteries, general and drinking water tanks, triple filters, grey and black tanks. Lots of large European windows and roof vents for ventilation, making it feel like a much larger trailer. The interior rival’s airstreams with a very useful layout, wife was sold on the well thought out bathroom/sink/shower/dressing room arrangement! We seem to be quite popular at regular ‘pull in’ camp parks, getting lots of lookers and conversationalists. Black Series company had some growing pains getting into the USA market, but has regrouped and making a real effort to become a player, backing up their products. For the money, this is a fantastic base for a rugged camper that will hold its own with the six figure customs.

We are long time campers and have had many travel trailers and a class a. We grew weary of campgrounds and found ourselves loving to get away and enjoy nature. We spotted a black series on the road and were intrigued. Fast forward and we're the ecstatic owners of a 2021 hq21. Love the Floorplan, solar capacity, water capacity and storage tank capacity. 2 of us can easily go 7 days with this water supply and black tank storage.... more if we really conserve. The price point is more than reasonable when you look at other off road campers! Wow, pricey and imo you don't get much more. With any camper there are always nuances to address but black series has made huge strides in their customer service! Very responsive and pleasant. We have ZERO regrets on this purchase and couldn't be happier! Love the experience and where this machine takes us!
