Winnebago Sunstar LX 35F reviews

We bought this RV new with the intent to live in it and travel continuously. It fulfilled its purpose perfectly. It provides all the essential features and functions that are required for full time living. The floor plan is nicely organized to enable full time living and to accommodate occasional visitors. Given a more generous budget to work with, we might have preferred a diesel pusher, but the Ford chassis and drive train never really disappointed. In 7 and a half years and 60,000 miles of travel, we never experienced a roadside failure. We intentionally wanted a shorter length for maneuverability and for access to locations which might have length restrictions. This model was ideal for achieving that objective and still providing a comfortable living space. All systems functioned as efficiently as we needed and expected. We never considered our travel as camping as we were connected to utilities virtually all the time. We essentially wanted a moveable apartment. This coach was well suited to our purposes and I would make exactly the same choice if I were in the market today. Show less

We purchased this rv from Blue Compass in Newtown Ct 7/20 24 and still haven’t received it. Apparently multiple problems with it but they just apologize as we lost our summer with it. We canceled 2 vacation homes tho we would have our dream rv. Everyone from the bottom up lies . I warn you stay away from Blue Compass Newtown Ct Show less

2017 made the big mistake buying the 2017 winneabago sunstar lx very pretty very defective 2 trips 2017 had over 22 repairs including a cracking roof winneabago refused to replace to this day this tv has been in the shop more then vacation i regret trading in my jayco huge mistake winneabago customer service so unprofessional and nasty this unit should of been taken back under the lemmon law i can not afford to sell or trade it in i would still be paying the loan. 2 yrs ago the windshield cracked my insurance paid for the replacement no impaction just cracked now again windshield cracked same spot again the hood keeps braking off the hinge has been repaired 3 times i have a list of repairs on pissed off consumer i cant take it anymore just went to maine to see my son he had to help me get the slid out back in this is one of my complaints in 2017 winneabago said the metal shavings on the floor were normal i neve seen this before stay away from the 2017 winneabago sunstar lx all repurposed parts i have the list of repair receipts i can wall paper a room with out of pocket money gas tolls work rent car carriers to drop off for repairs i use to enjoy rv Show less

Love the RV! 2 bathrooms just like home! Fireplace adds a nice touch and the refrigerator/freezer/ice maker is as large as our house unit. We use the bunk only when grandkids are with us! Outside entertainment center under the awning adds additional joy! The bedroom has plenty of closet and draw storage. In fact, we always pack to many clothes! The outside storage is quite ample too with a pass thru and other storage compartments. When needed the 2 AC's keep us at that perfect temperature and usually turn one off. This has a larger shower then our previous 30 Ft Jayco and one of the biggest I've ever seen! Show less

Great RV. Have to sell for medical reasons or I would not be selling. Took out couch and replaced with 2 recliners. We are living in it and have no complaints.We have traveled some but mainly have a lot next to a lake. Show less

There are several reasons chose this RV. (1) it is a Winnebago and their reputation is solid. (2). The floor plan was what I needed. (3) The half bath was a huge plus—it made it easier for guests to have access to a bathroom that was not the primary bath. (4). I was not looking for a fireplace but this is huge bonus. It provides the perfect amount of warmth for the cooler evenings and mornings while wintering in FL. The basement storage of 154 square feet is extremely accommodating. I tow a 2014 Ford Edge (4500 lbs) behind the RV and it is amazingly smooth. Visibility when driving is extremely good. The 3-way camera is a huge asset. The coach is easy to drive and turns are not an issue. Establishing reference points for distance between front of coach and rear of the vehicle ahead was easy to establish after one trip around a semi-empty parking lot. Reference point for turning were equally as easy to establish. I have had only one warranty issue and Winnebago worked with my local RV maintenance repair man to get it corrected properly on the first attempt. There have been no other issues. If I did not need to downsize, this RV would not be for sale. No regrets with this MotorHome, Show less

When we first went FT, we bought a new Thor Ace. We had so many problems and Thor customer service didn't seem to care. We finally stopped our trip and drove all the way back to Florida from MA. The dealership tried to fix everything but the shoddy workmanship from Thor caused things to keep breaking. We traded it in after only 4 months for a Winnebago Vista LX 35F. What a difference!! The workmanship was so much better and customer service took care of any issues we had which were all minor. We had peace of mind knowing our new RV worked as it should and if it didn't we had a company who cared about our satisfaction. We love the floor plan, so much space, so much storage. This is the best Class A we have owned.We have been RVing for 12 years and we have owned a few.The floor plan is great,the two bathrooms at first seemed to be overkill,but it later proved to be quite handy.The quality of this motorhome is quite good. Not one problem has arisen.We are overjoyed with our purchase. The only complaint we have is we would like to have a smaller couch and a recliner instead. Maybe in the future we may change this. But as for now we would not sell it for anything else. Show less

Front of my rv is Turing into some sort of stain. Brown looking,looks like warranty should cover this problem. Who do I talk to about this. Never seen this on all my other coaches. Need help to fix this problem. Show less

Great floor plan. Easy to drive. Fiber-glass roof. 1.5 bathrooms, big shower. 4 Door Refrigerator, MICROWAVE/CONVECTION OVEN, 3 BURNER RANGE W/OVEN, 2 Air Conditioners/Heat Pumps, Living Room and Bedroom. 3rd TV in the Bedroom. Electric Awning, Power mirrors, automatic power steps. Show less
