We traded in our 2010 Newmar that we were constantly having to work on every time we returned from a trip for a Tiffin Phaeton 40AH which we're having to constantly work on every time we return from a trip. Our RV is not quite 9 months old and it's been to the dealership once and to Red Bay twice for repairs where it's spent more time than we have had with it camping. It has around 4,200 miles over half of which are for taking it in for repairs. I have a list of over 30 issues that have either been repaired, re-repaired, re-re-repaired, re-re-re-repaired, and let me throw in one more.....re-re-re-re-repaired which is the bathroom swing door. I fixed it myself when I got home (8 hour drive) yesterday...it was still not working properly. You will not talk to nicer people in your life than Mr. Tiffin and his workers. They'll nice you to death...I'm being serious, but the love affair we have for the floor plan and the people at Tiffin stops there. It's a piece of junk......the receptacles and cabinet doors are crooked, there's gaps in the panels and molding everywhere, and the switches for the front slides work intermittently. When I brought in to the dealership for this switch problem, I was told to reposition my body if it stops while traversing.....seriously!! I recently had a serious brake issue that caused me to smash the back end of my RV, and all I was doing was using it as it was designed. I'd spoken with multiple people at Tiffin, Mr. Tiffin included, for them to replicate what had happened before sending it on to the chassis shop, but that never happened, so it all got swept under the rug at my expense. Ignorance in this case is seemingly convenient. But what I do now have is about 11,000 reasons to do what I'm doing here, and that is let you know the Tiffin RV is a piece of junk, at least the one we have. It has not left us on the side of the road, yet, but we have gotten to the campground and had the A/C's and hydraulics not work. Tiffin did reimburse us for the repairs.... they're good about that as long as it's not a bunch of money. We've already had an A/C replaced, the dash A/C was not working because the slide for the generator cut the evaporator coil fan wire because it was just flopping around, the bathroom door was warped, and I could go on and on. Let me leave you with one more thing, and that is, you cannot make an appointment for repairs in Red Bay. When you arrive, you're put on a list and you need to wait your turn, so you're basically camping out (free if within your warranty period and if there's space available) until repairs are completed.

I am not sure how Tiffin Motorhomes get such great reviews. After owning a Newmar and a Tiffin, I will never own another Tiffin. The interior finish work is just so so at best. Storage in the kitchen is not well laid out, the pullout pantry is too narrow. The rear camera is very poor at night and the docking lights while bright are poorly placed. Some components such as the Coleman Mach Heat Pumps are just not that good, all 3 have been recently replaced and they still struggle to cool the unit in a reasonable period of time. We have had to have multiple repairs to the driver's side front slide. Multiple repairs to the dash AC. The LED lights they use inside the coach are terrible, we constantly have to replace them, I think we have replaced 10 in the last year and a half and several more are now malfunctioning. The wet bay is poorly designed and I cannot understand why you would place the cable connection in the wet bay in a place that is difficult to reach. Also, why have a plug in the wet bay, water and electricity do not mix. Cleaning the black tank is a very time consuming process compared to the Newmar. The water pump does not last even though it is rarely used. Never should have traded the Newmar for a Tiffin.

Warranty work was done after the purchase on a number of areas, but the work done in Red bay and anything else that was needed and worked on locally by a Qualified mechanic was all done with professional feedback. I was also impressed by how service techs I would call spend whatever time necessary with me( I'm not a mechanic) to resolve whatever issue I may have. We have loved our time with this RV but will be selling it soon since our travel will change going forward international

We purchased a Class A - top of the line motor coach. Of course we expected an above average coach. What we got seems to be in line for a lemon. Not one time have we been on a trip that something hasn’t happened. My husband started learning the coach before we left and had to call support numerous times as well as have parts sent to us even able to travel . For the price we paid we most certainly expected better. Also, the warranty repair center is a mess. No one will call you back and there is zero scheduling. You have to show up and hope they get to you. You drive your rig to Red Bay, Alabama. That’s right. No matter where you live, you must take your rig there. Without a schedule. Those of us that work and have responsibilities need a set time or at least a solid estimated time. However that is not the case. Beware: There is not a water hook up Tiffins site. Another fun fact that shows how much quality and pride they put into their company. I would never recommend this brand to anyone.
