Grand Design Solitude S-Class 5th Wheel reviews

Purchased this RV in May 2021, year one heater in seat goes bad - GD says go to the manufacturer. Also the molding in the bathroom comes off. Year 2 - this year - water pump goes out, hot water heater goes out, half the LEDs in the awning lights go out, monitor panel goes bad - GD says tuff luck you're out of warranty. I purchsed this because I thought I was buying the best - turns out to be crap and Grand Design doesn't care. Their customer support was rude and basically said he can't support electronics they buy as 3rd party parts. So, if you want quality for 1.5 years only, this is what you buy. Show less

We truly love the open space, and natural light that this 5th Wheel Solitude layout offers. A few items that needed attention from the manufacturer, but Grand Design was Attentive, and our service work and warranty work was completed quickly. After those items, we have truly loved our Grand Design Solitude, and have camped on extended trips in Cold weather - the research we did, and reason we selected the Grand Design, not only for the quality, but Also for the Higher insulation values in Roof, Walls, and Floor (storage Bays too) were appreciated during the Colder weather! Grand Design is by far one of the best RV's to be full time in. Their real wood materials, residential feel, spacious and common sense designs are excellent. All my friends say my RV is better than their homes. Show less

The Bathroom is the main reason we chose this unit. Perfect for empty nesters who have occasional visitors. Our 3350 Rig has consistently performed well and held up well. The few items we had to deal with, electric chair control box was replaced easily and quickly by Grand Design. Towing is marked with a four instead of a five, really due to our first timer inexperience. The size of this rig, when you've got it loaded was just a smidge overweight for our half ton truck. It was night and day difference in how much smoother and easier this rig was to tow once we upgraded to a one ton truck. Now, it is a 5 star tow experience. The floor plan functions very well and holds everything nicely for travel. I would buy another Grand Design without hesitation due to the design, durability of the product and customer service after the purchase from Grand Design. Show less

This is my third 5th wheel and 16th RV over 40 years. Quality of the coach is excellent and so far I have only required one call to Grand Design for an operational question on a running change on the sound system.
