We have owned several fifth wheels and I love this front living floor plan. Plenty of storage space and room The on demand hot water heater alleviates running out of hot water when 3 adults take showers. Cools extremely well with the 3 AC's in South Carolina weather and humidity. Show less

I've owned Grand Design units for years and we're on our 3rd now, a Solitude 310GKR. We hoped that this would fit our retirement plans but I'm looking to sell/trade it for a Brinkley. We've taken our 310 out 5 times now and it's ended up in the repair shop after each trip. #1- The closet wall wasn't anchored to the floor. #2- The hydraulic system failed and had to be replaced. #3- the couches weren't anchored to the floor causing them to crash into the island and damaging both. #4- The wood trim poorly attached and falling off in several areas of the interior. #5- The heat pump for the electric heat on the roof top unit went out. Since Grand Design was bought out, it is no better than any other brand out there, including the cheap units. Components always likely to fail but the quality and workmanship has dramatically fallen. I would not recommend a Solitude as they're badly overpriced for what you get now. Show less

I would not recommend due to issues with slide out seals, auto leveling, toilet flush out leak, incorrectly installed door frames, screw falling off under the master closet and screw coming up through the floor in front of the master closet. Grand Design refuses to replacement the parts that were damaged before we bought the fifth wheel brand new or the parts that have failed to work right after purchase. They are using deny, delay, defend tactics. We have lost months of use of our fifth wheel and see no end in sight. Show less

This is an amazing rig. We purchased this because of the mid-bunkroom. This rig has a TON of storage space, in the living area, in the kitchen area, in the bedroom, underneath. The convection microwave is a huge plus. We’ve used the oven, but we all know RV ovens aren’t the best. The convection microwave works great. I've made biscuits and cookies, etc.. in it multiple times. Refrigerator has a ton of space. We’ve gone on 30 day trips in this rig and had no issues with any of the appliances. We upgraded the batteries because we keep it in a storage facility when not being used. We upgraded to a trickle charger for those batteries for the same reason. Show less

2020 Grand Design Solitude was perfect for our full-time living with kids. Large living room with 2 slide-outs and giant windows, large kitchen with island, 2 bedrooms (one fits a king size mattress) the other we converted to a bunk room, lots of storage, washer & dryer, large fresh water and gray tanks - all these made it comfortable for full time living and traveling. We got a nice solar setup and a generator and were able to boondock for over a week at a time. Lots of great memories! The 2020 model is also great because it is fairly new but still pre-pandemic so the quality is there. Show less

This is our second Grand Design Solitude. Our experience with Grand Design customer service after the sale has been fantastic. This is not the dealers unfortunately but we all know the dealer service departments leave a lot to be desired. Every RV has issues, in my book it is how the manufacture handles those issues. Grand Design has been top A++ We are getting ready to order our third Grand Design Solitude all due to the fantastic service we have received. Thank you Grand Design for being the best RV Manufacture in my opinion. Show less

We purchased our Solitude late last July 2023. It had several issues that needed repair. The Solitude was purchased new over 6 figures. After multiple phone calls, emails, and texts we finally picked up our Solitude on November 13, 2023. They didn’t clean the unit inside or outside. We plugged into shore power and everything seemed to be working great. One of the issues was the replacement of one refrigerator door and the freezer drawer. Upon leaving Oklahoma for Florida I discovered that the ice maker wouldn’t work. Upon investigation it had water in the reservoir but wouldn’t freeze. I also noticed that $200 worth of frozen beef had begun to thaw. The reason as I soon discovered was that the seals were missing on the two doors your company replaced. The level of incompetence you guys display just keeps on giving!  4 months of it now. The bed was never repaired. I’m not sure what was going on when you were making the repairs but the island has gouges and marks all over it. I’m guessing when whomever brought in the replacement recliners they did it. Russell (Service Advisor) is the only person I dealt with that showed any professionalism. He apologized for the delay many times. He was also extremely courteous. Nick (Sales Manager) also displayed a desire to help us. Alex made the sale and forgot about us, real nice! Jason (Service Manager) is worthless. He never made one followup call to advise us of any progress. Actually no one made any attempt to give us status updates. I had to demand to see him to get anything accomplished. In fact I had to show up in person because other forms of communication didn’t work. Again worthless. I will never do business with McClains again, ever. I’ve purchased two Grand Designs from your store. Thank goodness the Imagine never had any issues. Grand Design has a great product. So if you want to purchase one go out of state. Show less

I can't say enough about Grand Design. They really take care of their customers. The floorplan on this model is absolutely perfect for full-time living! Plenty of space and storage. We have everything with us and we still have empty cabinets! This until is very user friendly with plenty of manuals and online support! This is the perfect retirement unit for you! Full size kitchen with ample counter space and full size appliances. Master bedroom/bathroom screams luxury! Living room has theater seats with heat and massage, along with 2 queen size pull out beds. Easy to wipe clean vinyl flooring throughout. No carpet in here to keep allergens away. Central vacuum is the best! It has the 4-season package - no weather too hot or cold for this baby! Cozy, feel like home alongside the fireplace as you take in a picturesque view in the panoramic front window. Or, have your morning coffee sitting at your kitchen table with oversized windows for the perfect view of the morning sun. Two awnings will keep you shaded all day long. Convenient climate controlled basement is through and through making everything within reach. Show less

Just way too many problems with Grand Design RV Solitude 390RK-R 5th wheel to list. From nails popping through the linoleum on the floor to leaking roof. Grand Design knowing the kitchen slide outs never had rollers installed to properly carry to carry the weight still denied us twice to reimburse us to fix their mistakes. The local Grand Design dealer required full payment and told us to contact the company even with an assigned control number. Grand Design says our five slide-outs are not structural and are not covered by the three year structural warranty. I think Grand Design just denies all warranty claims. Having had to deal with how Grand Design treats their customers when the RV has a problem clearly makes our Worst mistake in our life was buying a Grand Design. They do not stand behind the product they sell. They find excuses not to do the right thing and pay to fix the problem. Be sure to warn your family and friends to look elsewhere if they are even remotely thinking of buying a RV. Their competition has built a RV that's shorter but has another 1,000 to 1,700 lbs of carrying cargo. A much better configuration. Shame on management to sit in elkhart Indiana and just not care. Our Grand Design Solitude 375RES has truly been a joy. We have had practically no issues with this pre-pandemic manufactured unit since we received it. I personally like all the storage space available. This camper is full of luxury. We have mostly kept the unit on a seasonal site, but have travelled with it on occasion. We had upgraded to the unit with the MoRyde 8K Independent Suspension and Disc Breaks. We also installed an additional bi-directional storage tray and RV Cord rollup up unit. The camper handles like a dream and is a true pleasure to tow. Show less
