This pop-up has been incredible for us to see places and camp in locations that are generally not accessible by most all other campers. The quality of underbelly stability and the equalizer hitch on this was fantastic. In our high -wind region, the low profile, heavier weight of this camper was great, and we had no issues whatsoever traveling in windy conditions. We loved this camper and the peace-of-mind off-road adventures it provided us.

We purchased our new 2020 Aliner 35th Anniversary Classic in red with Extreme Offroad package (gets 15 inch rims). It started out a little rough with a few minor defects which were soon taken care of by the dealership in Tacoma WA where we bought it. The main issue was door and how it was having issues closing to find out that the hinge on the lower half was broken. Also the dealership found that the non door wall was hitting the counter top causing the front side quarter window to push outward so the remedy was to put a thin bumper next to the window to prevent this from happening. Other than this it is actually a comfortable trailer to sleep in. The only regrets in getting this model it doesn't come with a cassette toilet or much storage. I've been learning as I go to come up with different ideas on storage and to put a commode in for over night potty runs. It tows great with little effort and not much fuel mileage loss with my tow vehicle that we have (2017 Chevy Colorado diesel). The door is really easy to close now with just a finger to close it. I'm trying different ways for storing things like our clothing when we are camping. Our trailer is an eye catcher with the Candy Apple Red. It may only take a little over a minute to set up but there is more time involved in telling the curiosity to how well it is to set up. Overall Aliner makes a good product but they leave themselves with room to make improvements. I, honestly would recommend one of these trailers to those who want simplicity and don't mind not having the necessities of not having a built in cassette toilet or the lacking of storage. We chose a Coolcat A/C with heat pump instead of the window A/C that sticks out the side. Also we like the dormer (hard sided) and how easy they are to put up or take down. Our future plans are to go places we have never been and to keep a log into how far and where we stayed. This log will also show how many miles are on the trailer. Also I would (if you order one) to get the bar style wind kit (helps with lifting the roof). I think this year has not been a normal year we have taken advantage of where we can go and have put a lot of mileage in such a short window of time to place both near and far of our home. Columbia Northwest has been very helpful with me when I have questions on things. Maybe someday we will travel to their factory to see how the trailers are produced but for now I'll just have to watch it on Youtube. Happy Camping!

It is a measure of how much we like our Aliner Scout that, despite the litany of complaints we list below, we simply love it, think it is excellent value for money, and would buy another in a heartbeat. However, if Columbia Northwest offered it as a shell, I would unhesitatingly buy that and do the internal stuff myself with IKEA products or something similar. That's not because I claim to be a great workman - I don't - but I could do ten times as good a job as whoever assembled the interior of our trailer. Our Scout was bought "stripped" - not even a sink or fridge - and I am extremely glad, based on the assembly quality of what the manufacturer actually did install. The good: Very clever exterior design. 8 feet of headroom at the center point, yet fits in a garage. Convenience of a pop-up without the hassle of the canvas. Gives the impression of being bigger inside than outside. Huge windows, deeply tinted, and excellent outside visibility. Fairly easily towed. Floor is sturdy, weatherproof, and good-looking. Very livable. The not-so-good: Fit and finish is so-so outside and much worse inside. Outside, the two parts of the Dutch-barn door are slightly warped, with gaps at the top of one and the bottom of the other. Caulking is not particularly neat. There are laughable foam inserts under some adjacent surfaces which of course shrink and fall out. The roof vent for the fan is not mounted squarely. Inside, you will be lucky to find a single "square" enclosed closet/cupboard or storage area - they are all poorly constructed, apparently by unskilled labor. With the exception of the work surfaces, the Formica-like panels are in fact covered in fragile paper, as you will discover as soon as you rub anything against them and expose the wood underneath. Dragging the bed out to the double size will inevitably tear and scratch those surfaces on your nice new camper. There are places where the wall-covering is double thickness: this is apparently where it was damaged during assembly, so a strip of new covering was simply applied over the old, sometimes of a slightly different color to the original. The table support design makes wobble inevitable, and the sharp unfinished edges on the end of the support leg will scratch your fingers and any surface you may lay them against. We recommend you take sandpaper to them before they do any harm. The cupboard door hinges are secured with small self-tapping screws into the particle board vertical panels and will tear out sooner or later: you might as well through-bolt them as soon as you take delivery. Poor workmanship throughout: perhaps the best example is an angle bracket supposedly securing a work surface on a cabinet, which had a screw neatly inserted but - alas! - not through the hole in the angle bracket.

This is perfect for two people. It’s very well made and super easy to tow because it’s so lightweight. The NO canvas factor makes cooling and heating it very efficient, and the fantastic fan was a brilliant addition, as it sucks the hot air out immediately, when first trying to cool it in the hot Florida sun. We also like that it can be set up in minutes by one person, and stores perfectly in our garage. Additionally, the bed cushions are surprisingly comfortable. We did have a minor warranty issue when we first purchased it (wall by a/c wasn’t properly attached) and the dealer fixed it ASAP, even offered to send someone to us to fix it. We highly recommend the Aliner Scout.

Really like the unit. Sturdy and solid with a well thought out design. Selling it because it is perfect for an outdoor oriented family. It sleeps 7/8 easily and with the deck you can haul lots of gear or a 4 wheeler. It is too big for me. Never thought I would ever say that but that has been my conclusion.... read more
