After four years of ownership and 50,000 miles of travel, I cannot say enough positive things about this van. The Mercedes platform and engine is just wonderful. It is super comfortable to drive for long distances and has very predictable handling, even in high cross wind situations. The 6-cylinder turbo diesel has ample power for highway speeds and hill climbing. The interior build quality is top grade as Leisure Travel Vans uses excellent components and thoughtfully and skillfully installs the cabinetry, plumbing and wiring. Some of the many design features that I really appreciate is there are no overhead cabinets above the driver and passenger seats, making it much easier to move from the driver’s area to the back of the van. I also appreciate how the integrated gray/black water dump tubing that tucks away hidden behind the driver’s side ground effects body skirt. When it is time to dump the tanks, the tubing just pulls out of the integrated container tube and stretches to the RV dump facility fitting. What may be a messy process with other RVs could not be cleaner or easier with the Free Spirit.

We wanted to upgrade from tent camping and after looking at all of the available options, we decided that a fiberglass shell camper would give us lightweight towing options and hold long term value. This is where Casita stands out, it's a design that's stood the test of time and we could get everything we wanted for a reasonable price. The Spirit Deluxe 17' has turned out to be the perfect size for the two of us on our cross-country travels for weeks at a time. It has a wet bath, sleeping for 2 in the large dining area at the rear, a dinette that seats two on the side, a workable kitchen with a sink, 2 burner stove, microwave & fridge. A Maxx fan, an A/C with heat strip & a gas furnace.

We bought ours in 2019. It was completed in two months. Now it is 18 month build time. I ordered everything but the microwave. The price was $24,000. We spent the summer of 2020 on the road, from Virginia to California and back. Our bathroom door latch broke, one cabinet door would not secure, and the dog chewed the blinds and fire extinguisher holder. The Deadbolt broke in half at the Casita going factory. They fixed everything for free. Several times because of the camper's size, we could get into an RV park with only a small spot left. We are retired it this perfect for us. I can't imagine a family in one of these campers. One has to stay seated when the other moves. We would have gotten the twin bed if we had known about having to crawl over each other. The upkeep is very easy. Everything works great. I had the windows tinted to keep the heat out. I had a Soft Start put on the AC so I can use a small generator and a regular outlet to run the AC.

Our first RV. Lightweight and sassy....just right for two but then we got a big dog(puppy) and it became a little two small.. Great brand, well built and easy to maintain. Everything worked but had to replace the hot water tank because we did not drain it properly during the freezing weather. We made several short trips to state parks and largely depended on the shower facilities rather that try to shower in the Casita. Heating and AC worked great and used both on different occasions. This unit travelled well behind a Chevy Silverado pick up truck.

Downsizing and down pricing from a series of Airstreams, my wife and I bought a CASITA Spirit Deluxe last year... first impression is WOW, what a good deal. It clearly is a huge bang for the buck in terms of functionality...it is very well constructed, and has some features not found on more expensive coaches. The experience of purchasing the Casita was overall very excellent, and we were especially pleased with Carla in sales at Casita plant. Though small, the floorplan layout is flexible, and the payoff in towing and economy is a huge reward. Ideal for two! Very happy!!

We spend last summer in the Colorado mountains - a true test for engine and brakes, and it performed beautifully! Fit and finish is nice. It is tall inside, which helps since I am well over 6'3". We have 3.5 years in the bus, and I very much enjoy it! Things that I wish I could change: * I wish the air conditioner were more quiet. * I wish it gave up on some storage for living space. (it has lots and lots of storage!) * I wish the bed were more comfortable without a special topper.

My wife was handicapped and this van allowed us to travel with our own bathroom. She has passed on. Reliable 5 cylinder diesel gets 22 mpg, and is quiet while running. Age related are cabinet door bumpers turned to goo and felt pads replaced them. Climate control cables from knobs on the dash have become very slow to move, no way to put oil on them. When dry camping, and I am gone, the refrigerator is the only thing requiring power, but the radio power amp is ON as a parasitic load. I pull a fuse, but it could be wired so the switch for Radio-TV could have center OFF. The swing down spare tire should have a large sign stating that the short screws for mounting are in a compartment under the passenger floor mat.

This is the best trailer for 2 people & a dog. The build quality is good. They have been building these since 1983. Being fiberglass you don't have to worry about roof leaks. The setup & take down is very easy. After you do it a few times, it is very fast. Look at the standard equipment and the options. If budget allows get all the options except the Microwave. ( You can buy one yourself ) It is better to have it & not need it, than need it & not have it. There is a company near Fort Worth TX where you can get addition upgrades installed. https://littlehomeontheroad.com/ It is very easy to tow. Maintenance is very easy. There is a book Casita Trailer A - Z which covers everything. The quality of regular trailers are very poor. So you could spend time in the repair shop or your time camping. When we were looking for RV we finally had to decide do we need to take our house with us or just a motel room. This saved us a lot of money. People will come up & want to see the Casita. We have been approached each time we have been out. We are very pleased with this Camper. One upgrade I would suggest is installing a Soft Start on the AC. https://www.microair.net/collections/easystart-soft-starters What this does is softly start your AC so you all you here is the fan coming on. No thump noise. This allows you to use a smaller generator. Instead of 50 AMPs to start a AC it takes 15 AMPs. We tow with our Chevy Colorado V-6.

This vehicle was the right size! I had a bigger unit but it was cumbersome and prevented me from traveling some backcountry roads. This RV is like having a sports car RV-it is easy to drive and it holds the roads very well especially on back country roads. you sit high enough to be able to see all around you and take in the scenery as well as stopping on the side of the road having lunch and taking in the local atmosphere. I did add some additional conveniences-GPS with backup camera, bike rack, created more shelving to be organized as well as added 2 drawers in the closet, plus many other conveniences listed in the description. This RV has a Mercedes 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine that has great power as well as great fuel economy- when cruising around 65 MPH I get 24 + mile per gallon. I feel very comfortable driving on Interstate highways as well as backcountry roads as well as in cities and towns-the weight limits and its height allows you to go almost anywhere not limited like big rigs are. The convenience size I could park at home in my driveway. Its size allowed me to use it to get supplies from Home Depot to do home projects.
