My mother-in-law bought a used camper from this place 6 months ago. Within the 1st week of purchasing the camper, she noticed mold starting to grow in various places. She contacted Camping World to make them aware of the situation and CW had her bring the camper into their shop to "fix" the issue. They had replaced the carpet in the areas where the mold was but failed to fix the cause of the mold, which was a crack on the outside. So as you can guess, the mold came back. She has reached out to them several times as she is elderly and has existing health problems and all this mold is becoming a health risk as its getting worse. CW keeps giving her the run around each time she contacts them. Now that they have the sale, I'm assuming they don't really care about what happens to her. It's sad they took advantage of an elderly widow and she is out thousands of dollars. I will be contacting local news stations and the consumer affairs office to inform them of the shady practices of this "business" so others aren't put at risk.

After a recent visit I was sent a "how'd we do" email. My response was as follows: "I'll start by saying that your inventory of RV parts and gadgets is impressive and very well got my attention for future RV part needs. Although I'll shop from my screen. I'd also like to say that our salesman was a pleasant enough guy to deal with once we got through the very thick "salesman front". Although with as much information as I had given him prior to our arrival I felt that there should have been a significant amount of preparation already done. This was not the case. However, as a whole I'd have to say that we did not enjoy our time spent. I was clear with our salesman on our position, our search parameters, and even shared with him a screenshot of the buyers order that we already have for another unit at another dealership. Our drive to Tyler was just a line being thrown to Camping World as we were promised a number of units available that were not on the website. Unfortunately that didn't seem to be quite right. Also, the fact that Camping World apparently does not allow their salesman to discuss pricing with the customers is absurd, I mean not even an asking or list price was available for units we were being shown on the lot. That's rediculous. All and all, I felt that we were at a VERY HIGH PRESSURE dealership were the information was not made readily available and anything that was brought to their attention was met with an attempt to discredit or minimize. I cannot say that I'd recommend anyone to Camping World. Also on a store front note, of all the businesses around your Tyler location yours is the hardest sign to read upon approach. Hopefully this review can be valued. Y'all have a good weekend."

I normally do not write negative reviews as I own my own business and ninety five percent of the time, the customer gives a negative review based on impulse or their own misunderstanding. SO, I give other businesses the courtesy of never forming an opinion based on ONE experience, emotion, or impulse. But, where do I start with this business? From the start, we walked through our motor home the day we picked it up, and I had a list of issues that my husband and I noted during the walk through (all of which were NOT "seen" or "noticed" by the service crew who apparently did a "thorough" walk through the two weeks after we signed a contract and made a deposit to purchase, but before we were able to pick it up). NOne of those issues were noted by the service team. One of which was a HUGE crack in the dash - of a brand new motorhome. The motorhome was not detailed, but somewhat dusted and mopped. THe gentlemen giving us the walk through did not know much at all about our model of motorhome either, and could only half way answer our quesitons. Should have been a red flag there...but, we decided to go ahead and purchase the "extended" warranty that covered just about everything from red wine to dog urine on the sofa of the RV...and we noted the issues with the motorhome and were promised they would be taken care of. We would be called when the first part (the WHOLE dash) would be in and we could bring the motorhome back in for repairs. They had no idea how long it would take to get the part in...so we took our first trip in the motorhome. It was in the summer in Texas. Five hours into our trip, the generator stopped working. No one - no other camping world within our road trip - had the part or even had anyone to help us. We called the 1-800 number given to you when you purchase the extended warranty, etc...and the guy on the phone talked to my husband like he was a 3 year old and didn't know what he was doing...and what the guy on the phone diagnosed was not even close to what was wrong. Twenty eight hours later, still no generator...so we rode in a vehicle that was 92 degrees farenhiet for eight ours to our next destination. There, we had quite a few other RVers in the park try to help with the generator, to no avail...and then, guess what? THe door to the "outdoor kitchen" malfunctioned and we could not open the compartment to retrieve our water and gatorade, as well as some food placed in the outdoor fridge. A few hours later, the arm on the awning decided not to retract all the way so we had to drive the next 6 hours with a non-retractable awning arm, no A/C, no access to our beverages, and upset "new" owners. My husband finally troubleshot the generator enough where we took a detour (in the rain...and guess what?? The front windshield is NOW LEAKING and water is pooling on the dash...), 2 hours out of the way, to a diesel shop where we were able to purchase the parts (out of our own pocket) for the generator. At least now we had A//C while driving. We finally arrive back. home. A few weeks later, we received a call that the new dash was in and we could drop the motorhome off and they would replace the dashboard, and address and repair everything on our list. Great, right? Finally! Well, not so fast...after 12 weeks of being in the service department, motorhome JUST got the dash installed and the next day took for the windshield to be replaced...and NOTHING else was repaired at all during that time! Oh, and the leak in the black water tank I forgot to mention...we were told there was no leak...nonetheless, we were also told we could pick up after the windshield was repaired and the motorhome was detailed and all repairs finished, oh, except the arm for the awning was ordered wrong and had to be sent back and a new one ordered, oh, and the compartment door to your outdoor kitchen? well, it was just now ordered!!!!!! We had a trip planned to had to pick up before the other repairs were finished...but again, were told it would be spotless when we picked up. Well, not only was it filthy and disgusting, but the dash they replaced was now cracked on the OTHER end! And 24 hours later, while on our trip, it rained, and, you guessed it....the windshield STILL LEAKED...oh, and the black water tank that "didn't leak?" well, it still leaked as well. We have talked to manager after manager (after they finally called us back)...we've talked to supervisors here and there, and bosses of bosses here and there, and STILL nothing has been resolved. THey DO NOT call us back, we have to call them. So, this place is absolutely horrible and a waste of time. Unfortunately, we have spoken to our attorney and he will handle the rest of this situation...and we are also looking into the "lemon law" as well...but, this is a big company and no one really cares about negative reviews or customer service, or they would do a better job. Big companies such as these unfortunately get away with this.

This was the worst experience we’ve ever had at a dealership! From start to finish, it was a nightmare. The lack of professionalism from the staff at Camping World Tyler is appalling. We live in Connecticut and finally found the motorhome we’ve been looking for over a year through their website. Our dealings with them were over the phone and through video calls. We placed a lot of trust in Camping World of Tyler as we did not physically see the motorhome before it was delivered. We were lied to several times over the entire process. They told us that it went through their rigorous inspection process before it was delivered and assured that everything was in working order. The day it was set to go over for delivery, we were informed that it left at 11:30am and when we called the driver to confirm, he informed us that he had not left. We could not get a hold of someone until 4pm to tell us what was going on with our motorhome. They said it was an “operator error” and everything was fine. The only reason we got a call is because we called Corporate, and they called the Tyler location for us. We had to get corporate involved several times to get a call back. We dealt with several unprofessional employees, who were rude and even trash talked their own company. Courtney was the only person we had a pleasant experience with. She was wonderful to work with and always returned our calls promptly. If we could have refused the motorhome on delivery, we would have. It got delivered on New Year's Eve, right as the ball dropped. We were outraged at the condition it was delivered in. The driver took photos before he left as he was shocked that they would let it leave in the condition that it was in. We have a 15-item punch list of things that are not in working condition. Our first drive in it, we had to get a tow back to our house as the starter died. The starter is not engaging the flywheel. Thankfully my boyfriend is a diesel mechanic, and he did his own inspections after we got towed home. He realized that the fuel filter had never been changed. The leveling jacks do not work. They did not provide operators manuals as promised. There were numerous blown fuses, the refrigerator light was still broken, which they assured us they had changed after we noticed it was out on a video call. One of the lights over the seating area was dangling as it was missing a screw. The oven door was broken. The vents were mostly black. The microwave was disgusting! Clearly, they didn’t even give it a basic cleaning. We called back the next day to complain and they said someone would call us back and per usual, we haven’t gotten a call back (2 days). We are now searching for and having a very difficult time trying to find a starter.

Things were missing parts, window leaked when it rained, had it delivered it took a week to get the keys remote manual, when you have it delivered to a rv park and can not lock it up well just do not go there, they were going to throw in hoses with the price that cost another 273 . Just do not go, while your there there really nice, but when you get it off the lot there impossible to work with. Oh, they did give us a 250 gift card. I'm sorry what is wrong with this trailer is going to cost thousands. DO NOT GO THERE, YOU WILL REGRET IT!

****WARNING STAY AWAY FROM CAMPING WORLD***** They do not value their customers once you drive away!!! We purchased this unit in November of 2018 at Camping World Tyler, Texas and had a leak at the time and was assured it would be fixed through there rigorous testing. In June of 2019 we had to take it back to Tyler, Tx service department for the same leak. It stayed in there shop for three months due to having to replace the whole water damaged slide from a seal being installed incorrectly(not to mention when the replaced the slide they left screws to long and shredded our vinyl flooring). We were so dissatisfied with Camping World customer service they couldn't even communicate with us on what was going on. So now it has happed again the leaking in the same spot. This time we took it to another Camping World in Bossier, La and we are having trouble with the manufacturer warranty wanting to cover the same issue not fixed right the 2nd time. We reached out to the General Manager(Brandon Whitham Tyler, Tx)and wanted a buyback on our camper but he came back with some low ball amount that is way lower than what is owed so now we are stuck with useless camper.

Sometime back I wrote a review of Camping World’s RV service. I gave them a failing grade at every turn. Now 2 ½ months later nothing has changed. We purchased our Coleman 2515 on March 19 which means we have had it 4 ½ months. The camper has been in their shop for over half of that time! Based on our current experience I would say that Coleman campers, bought from Camping World, actually have a 6 month warranty because even with the most minor warranty repairs the camper will be in the shop more than a month. It would be different if the repairs had been something major like a failed air conditioning system or electrical system that required full replacement. But these have been, or should have been, quite minor issues. The refrigerator door latch was improperly installed and needed to be replaced. The drawers were also improperly installed but the repair would require about 6 feet of furring strip, cut into 4 sections, and 9 to 12 wood screws. There was a leak between the awning and the camper over the door that would require a bead of silicone caulk. The most major issue was that Camping World installed a rear view camera, which we bought from them at the time we purchased the camper, in a way that keeps it running constantly with no way to turn it off. It’s like having no “off” switch on the headlights in your car, the battery will run down in short order. Bottom line, we have owned the camper 4 ½ months and have been able to take it out camping for 8 days! Unless you are comfortable ignoring the warranty on your camper and make all the repairs to it yourself I strongly advise you to purchase elsewhere. Don’t just look at the features of the campers or be swayed by the warranty, check out the complaints about the repair department of the place you are planning to purchase your camper. If you live in the Tyler-Longview-Marshall area I can recommend Hayes RV in Longview. That’s where we purchase our first camper and were I really wished we had purchased our second one. Their service department is outstanding, fast, and efficient. The only reason we did not purchase our second camper there was that in March (when we were looking for a larger camper) everyone was out buying campers and Hayes inventory was quite low (probably because of return customers). I wish we had just waited till their inventory recovered from the rush and made our purchase there. Learn from my mistakes.

Just a word of warning for anyone looking to purchase a camper/RV. Do not purchase from Tyler Camping World. We purchased one from them March 26 and we already regret it. Check their Better Business Rating at www.bbb.org. They have had over 800 complaints in the last 3 years and 261 (about to be 262) in the last 12 months. Sales department was great (of course), service department is horrible and finance department was VERY deceptive. When we got the camper home there were two very minor (we thought) things that needed to be repaired. The refrigerator door handle was not properly mounted and one of the drawers had a rail that was not supported (forgot to nail the runner down before attaching the rail). Its been 3 weeks and we still have not gotten the camper back. First excuse was that they had to verify the warranty (we returned the camper less than a week after we picked it up!). Now they are telling us they are waiting for a new rail to be delivered. I call BS. Just remember, buyer beware.
