We traded a 2021 Atlas for the 2023 to get the new E1 Volta power system thinking it would solve the many problems we had with the power systems on the 2121 which included a complete failure of all solar panels and a cost to us for emergency repairs if over $2,000. Airstream refused to pay for the repairs simply because we did not get prior authorization for repairs at a non-Airstream repair shop. Without those repairs we were dead and 300 miles from a Airstream dealer. We were so excited to get our 2023 and yet things started going wrong immediately! First the Volta system failed on our first day out and we had to return to the dealer for a complete replacement. After that we started encountering so many issues that it would be hard to enumerate here. After taking it to the Denver Airstream dealer where it sat for 2 months we were told everything was functioning properly. NOT! The AC system would not function even when on shore lower. The microwave and induction stove kept failing. To add insult to injury an electronic module in the Mercedes engine caused the transmission to fail. The vehicle had to be towed 250 miles to Salt Lake City. No that that repair is completed the vehicle is sitting at the Salt Lake Airstream dealer waiting for the Volta system to be repaired again. I am not confident they even have a tech that is qualified to work on the system. To be continued …. In the meantime, DON’t BUY ONE!

We have owned our Airstream Atlas Murphy suite for 3 years and just completed camping in all of the lower 48 states! Everything we didn’t like in our previous Interstate has been corrected in the design of this van. All outdoor supplies (firewood, grilling supplies, chairs, table, outdoor games etc) can be stored in the cabinets on the exterior. This leaves all of the interior cabinets for food, clothing, bedding and entertainment. Having a full bathroom across the back of the van allows for privacy and comfort. everything dries out completely allowing you to easily live in the van for many nights in row. The kitchen is well thought out, the refrigerator and microwave are at a functional height, and there is a pullout pantry for food along the side of the refrigerator. The two recliners and large television are perfect for winding down at night. The murphy bed is very comfortable and the slide out allows you to walk around 3 sides of the bed. We couldn’t be happier with our experience with this RV

We bought our Atlas 7 months ago and have enjoyed it immensely. We went on a 5 week roadtrip and at times it felt small but for the most part you just have to be organized. My husband loves driving the RV and would not want to drive anything larger. Some issues we have had are the fiberglass next to the driver side has cracked, one stabilizer won't come down, the multi locking system won't work on the main cabin door, and the drawers in the bathroom won't lock so they fly open on sharp turns. To get these taken care of under warranty is a big hassle. We are 260 miles from the closest Airstream authorized repair shop. We will need to drive it there, fly home, as they need it for at least 3 weeks, fly back, and then drive it home. As you know that is a big expense. When I called Airstream all they would say is sorry, but that is the way it is. My suggestion is not to buy any Airstream unless you live close to an authorized repair shop.

We bought our beautiful Airstream Atlas for as much as some people pay for a house. It was a huge investment. Our experience with Mercedes was excellent, as they had recalls. Airstream was the opposite. When we lost hot water in New Mexico and were to be on the road for a month we called Airstream customer service. We were told to use the public bathrooms (during Covid). This was the first experience. It only got worse once we dropped it off to get the heater fixed. It sat at the dealer for 7 months because Airstream refused to replace the unit ($360.00). I could go on and on but we’ve never had such a terrible service experience. No repair we dropped it of for, even small, was ever fixed. The dealers complain about Airstream service and Airstream is not customer friendly so the customers needs go unfulfilled. This beautiful RV went from a dream to a nightmare due to Airstream pathetic customer service. It would be bad enough to not have something repaired but to have to deal with Airstream’s rude representatives was unbelievable. It was enough to make us give up. We’re too old to keep fighting them. I’m writing this because we just sold it back to the dealer at an over 75,000 loss and I’m just really sad about the whole experience and sorry for the person who buys it.

We moved from a small towable to a Class A to an Airstream Atlas. We travel as a couple with two dogs. There are always a few warranty issues in the beginning with all RVs. However, you will not be nine states away from home needing service and be told they can see you in eight weeks with an Atlas. You simply find a Mercedes dealership. And THAT is the biggest service difference. We have never been scheduled more than 72 hours out. In terms of quality, we have a 2019 Atlas and it has held up extremely well. The sofa footrests and bathroom door locks were design do-overs. Make sure you are buying from an experienced dealer if you will be obtaining service from same location. Everything installed into an RV comes with its own warranty no matter the brand. We have had good factory support outcomes, but warranty reps do sometimes try to make the service rep the bad guy, which is easily handled through direct communication. Our Class A was in the shop 10 out of 12 months. I will never go back. I love my Atlas. We can also maneuver little towns, restaurants and shops the bigger guys can’t. Great tailgater as well.

However, we’ve had our share of problems with it, such things as the shower door falling off; the sliding bathroom door falling off; the Murphy bed release switch breaking; airbag problems; and other related issues. There’s always something, and it seems we spend too much time at the dealership. Patience is definitely needed. Problems aside, it works for us

This has been our very first RV experience of any kind. We have had the Atlas for 5 months, and have spent 20 nights in it and about 5,000 miles. We've had a few minor problems that I fixed myself. After reading of some problems others had I emailed customer support and asked if they could identify any common problems that I might run into, and what I could do to be prepared. They promptly sent me information about some replacement fuses I could keep on hand, and a replacement pin for the automatic steps. I haven't needed either. I've owned many new cars and I realize that on such complicated machines there will be problems and adjustments needed. The Atlas is even more complicated, so it shouldn't be a surprise that things might happen. But (knock wood) I've been very happy with the Atlas and the responses I've gotten when I've communicated with customer service with questions. I've had many compliments from other rv'ers, and I love the conveniences and ease of setup and moving.O

Purchased the 2020 Atlas in October 2019, took it on its first real road trip in June 2020 only to have multiple things break on the van - one of which was the bathroom door brackets broke, the magnet they use did not work and it feel off all together. Drawers and cabinets did not stay closed even though locked, handle broke off the screen while driving, the outside storage cabinets would not unlock and the list goes on all while this had maybe 500 miles under its belt. As my husband would say, the bolts were on hand tight. We had to take it to a dealer in Washington to have them help with the bathroom door they found other issues and did not want to truly touch the van since it had so many issues. They helped us rig the door so we could finish our trip which was nice of them. The van has been at the dealer service for over a month with no phone call updates from them nor are they returning our calls. I would not suggest this vehicle or the dealer in Southern Cal off Beach Blvd.
