We really like the rv except for the build quality. It has been back in the shop more days than we have actually used it. We have had to replace a slide motor and the awning two shades the two grey tanks will not totally empty unless you are on a down hill slope. And now we just pulled it in the rain and had a puddle of water at both bottom corners of the slide. And we also have cold air coming in from the corners of the slide. Our last trailer didn’t have a slide and I was concerned about the fact it might leak but slides have been around for a long time so we tried it. And now wish we didn’t have one.

We purchased our Solitude late last July 2023. It had several issues that needed repair. The Solitude was purchased new over 6 figures. After multiple phone calls, emails, and texts we finally picked up our Solitude on November 13, 2023. They didn’t clean the unit inside or outside.
We plugged into shore power and everything seemed to be working great. One of the issues was the replacement of one refrigerator door and the freezer drawer. Upon leaving Oklahoma for Florida I discovered that the ice maker wouldn’t work. Upon investigation it had water in the reservoir but wouldn’t freeze. I also noticed that $200 worth of frozen beef had begun to thaw. The reason as I soon discovered was that the seals were missing on the two doors your company replaced.
The level of incompetence you guys display just keeps on giving! 4 months of it now.
The bed was never repaired. I’m not sure what was going on when you were making the repairs but the island has gouges and marks all over it. I’m guessing when whomever brought in the replacement recliners they did it.
Russell (Service Advisor) is the only person I dealt with that showed any professionalism. He apologized for the delay many times. He was also extremely courteous.
Nick (Sales Manager) also displayed a desire to help us.
Alex made the sale and forgot about us, real nice!
Jason (Service Manager) is worthless. He never made one followup call to advise us of any progress. Actually no one made any attempt to give us status updates. I had to demand to see him to get anything accomplished. In fact I had to show up in person because other forms of communication didn’t work. Again worthless.
I will never do business with McClains again, ever. I’ve purchased two Grand Designs from your store. Thank goodness the Imagine never had any issues.
Grand Design has a great product. So if you want to purchase one go out of state.

The name grand design would lead you to think that things were engineered well. How do you engineer the clothes closet without enough hanging length for your clothes to be too long not to be all wrinkled at the bottom. There are two drawers below the hanging space that could have been made shorter so your clothes could hang normally. Or elemenated for proper hanging in the closet.
Do not put things in the tubs in the front storage area the tubs are thin cheap plastic and they break out and cave in.
The spray on the cabinets is so poorly done light spots showing through nail holes not finished properly.
Don’t let the name grand design fool you not well thought through at all

Love the floor plan but disappointed with the quality. Not an inexpensive RV. Dealer paper work shows $82,000.
I have only had it 2 weeks and found that Grand Design and the dealer missed at least 14 issues with RV. I know things happen and it’s at dealer now to be fixed. The most annoying issue I have is there were no propane connections on the outside of RV. I talked to support and I am told that there was a supply issue and there was a time when they shipped RVs without the quick connects on the RV. Ok, I get it but when I asked if they could send me the parts because no one expects to get to there camp site and find no propane connection. I was told they want give me the parts. So I contacted there part department and they can’t even tell me what parts I need. I have had 4 RVs and the last 2 were GD. Never had one without the connections for propane. Also never had one with this many issues.
Issues I fix myself and issues deal will have to fix.
1. Theater seats were not screwed down and the 3 sections not even connected to each other.
2. Screws missing from bracket holding couch to floor
3. Bedroom door guide improperly installed
4. Kitchen island cabinet doors not latching
5. Counter top delaminating
6. 3 bolts loose on hitch
7. Toilet loose
8. Awning on slide was shutting of lights and control panel when extended
Things still broken that dealer will have to fix.
1. Arc connection between TV and Jensen auto system not working.
2. Seal tape on top of slide is coming off in a few places.
3. Refrigerator door had a strange spot on it and needs replaced
4. Window latch on rear left if you were setting on couch has a latch that does not function.
5.Freezer cools but not refrigerator part
6. Shower wall bowing out.
7. TPMS does not work very well. Alerts are delayed. Unplugged a tire sensor to test and took like 20 minutes for an alert to arrive on phone. Not to mention the alerts will not be seen unless phone is unlocked. I will have to purchase a TPMS monitor display if i want it to alert me and be reliable. This is an issue that is all over user forums. Will probably just purchase the same one I let go with the grand design I just sold.
8. Rear blind needs help rolling up.Not enough spring tension

The microwave comes on by itself so it needs to be replaced. The fuel station tank is cracked so contaminants and water got inside the tank so it needs to be replaced. Fuel lines of generators clogged up. No help from Grand Design.
Brand new trailer. I had it one day now it sits at the dealership while I make payments. Grand Design is absolutely no help. Don’t buy a Grand Design Trailer. Run away from it as fast as you can. What a nightmare. The list goes on and on. Grand Design is Trash.

We have owned the imagine xls 22 rbe since June 22 and its been in the shop more than we have used it. We bought it to replace a 19 year old Jayco and I wish we had the Jayco back. i new there would be little things but it has got ridiculous now. I took it in Sept. 7 because the slide didn't work properly, thought it just needed realignment, nope needs new motor. There are motors at other places but it has to come from there supplier and won't be here for weeks. I have a trip Oct. 9 they said sorry. It has 2 grey tanks which is great except the front one leaves water in the pipe that goes to the dump valve. You can clearly see it sags in the middle but they told me they have done all they could so deal with it. Every time i take the valve cap off to dump i get a gallon and half water shower. The floor plan is great but when it spends more time at the shop than with you, you can't enjoy it. The black trim around the bottom the caulking keeps coming apart when it sits in the sun there
fix use more screws it still separates and i just found out its been sitting outside for the last 2 weeks in the rain .so now i probably have water damage .

We just spent $100,000 on a Grand Design Imagine 3210BH just a few months ago. I love the floor plan, the space and storage but that's about all that is good about it. We have had nothing but issues.
1. Outside water tap leaks
2. Septic valve leaks
3. Panel is faulty and Bluetooth doesn't work (the main reason I bought the trailer). I love the accessibility of controlling the trailer through your phone but NO! Ours doesn't work. Even after getting it replaced it doesn't work.
4. Door lock broke. Key just free spins and we had to break into our own trailer.
5. Window screen was not installed properly and broke.
6. Seam covers keep coming off.
7. TV mount installed crooked and screws were stripped.
8. Window covering was installed very off. Only covered 80% of the window.
9. Hot water has already failed. Both gas and electric options don't work.
10. Frame under master bed where you lift up to access storage, is loose and screws are sticking out everywhere.
11. The fender was cracked from screws being tightened too hard.
I would not recommend this trailer to anyone. After spending $100,000, you would think it would be better quality than this. NOT HAPPY!

We bought this one week ago today for my husband to travel in for his job. The kids (6 years old and 7 months old) and I have spent the last week with him before returning home. It is a nice camper but for the price, we expected more comfortable sleeping. The mattresses are garbage. My son weighs maybe 45 lbs and his mattress on his bunk has flattened almost in half in just 6 days of sleeping on it. Our mattress is very uncomfortable. Overall a nice camper with a great layout and fit all of our wants and needs. For the price of the camper, the beds should be more comfortable.
