Bay storage is huge. The most livable floor plan is cnfortable for extended stays of months on end. 2021 ford suspension upgrades makes driving a breeze and very smooth. Plenty of power to pull the full 5000 lbs specified.

Every RV built in 2021, regardless of class or manufacturer, has had a number of warranty issues. We like to call it, "The Covid Manufacturing Year". Shortage of parts and lack of skilled labor meant eventual quality issues for every RV built that year (and probably 2022 as well). What sets Newmar apart is their warranty support. We took our RV out on the road for 13 months (and over 16,000 miles) and over this time period, had 16 different issues come up. Newmar customer service covered all 16 issues and through two different authorized repair shops, not a penny was spent out of pocket. We wonder how Newmar made money on us because the invoices totaled near $10,000 worth of authorized repairs on a brand new unit. I want to also mention that as a Newmar owner, you are assigned to a specific customer support person that focuses on just a few Newmar models. This allows these individuals to become product experts on the rig you own and they are able to help troubleshoot basic issues when needed. You also are provided their direct line and there are no call centers in a foreign country. You're speaking to someone that works right at the faactory! There is a reason many campsites which only want 10 year or younger RV's on their campgrounds allow older Newmar models to still stay. First, Newmar puts out a product that is high in quality, uses high end paint and no matter how old the model, always looks newer than any RV it is parked next to. Second, Newmar owners take pride in ownership and keep their RV's clean and looking new. With 13 months spent traveling across America and back, it was important to have a floor plan that worked for us. At a relatively short 29 feet for a Class A, the Bay Star Sport 2813 fit the bill perfectly. The driving compartment is extremely comfortable with both driver and passenger chairs swiveling 180 degrees when not in use to provide additional seating. The dinette and jack knife sofa provided additional sleep areas when we had guests and the 50 inch Samsung televator located in a closed compartment behind the dinette let us watch our favorite TV shows or DVD's. The kitchen area is large enough where two adults can work side by side, prepping and cooking, at the same time and the counterspace is roomier than most Class A's. A separate bathroom that has a shower tall enough to accommodate someone 6.5 feet tall is a big plus. Although the total bathroom area is smaller than we liked, we gladly gave up some of that space to have a larger living and bedroom area. The bedroom houses a standard queen bed which we like because it gives you a small walking area on each side of the bed. A king would be big enough where you lose the walking area. And an additional TV is mounted in the bedroom for the days where we just felt lazy and wanted to be in bed all day. There is also a ton of storage in this unit. Besides the outside bays, the interior had 2 cabinets above the driving area, 3 above the jack knife sofa, 2 below the dinette, 4 drawers in the kitchen, a large pantry above the sink and an even larger pantry next to the refrigerator, 2 closets and 8 various sized storage compartments in the bedroom round out the storage areas. We filled every nook and cranny but didn't use a third of the gear we brought along for our long trip and our next trip will definitely have lots of empty cabinets and bays. But the luxury of having anything you could think of that you might need was comforting. Did we really need to bring two portable BBQ grills with us? Or a 10-man tent with a queen-sized blow up mattress? Driving this sized Class A was easy. We decided not to get a tow vehicle, opting instead of using ride shares or renting a car whenever we stayed somewhere for a week or longer. A monitor mounted above the radio provided rear and side views making lane changes easy and stressless. Other 'easy button' items that we love in our RV is the Auto Level, remote generator start, blue tooth-controlled awning and another blue tooth item we added ourselves, a hardwired surge protector located next to the power cord in the rear driver bay. A lot of high end RV owners buy the best surge protector they can find on the market (some upwards of $600) and then plug it into the campground provided electrical box only to have some idiot steal it. For another few hundred dollars, you can buy a lock for it. Or, you can install a hard-wired version like we did and have it hidden and locked inside the storage bay. Overall, our entry-level Newmar was a home for 13 months. If we decide to go longer or near fulltime, we will more than likely move to one of Newmar's higher end diesel pushers.

We purchased a new 2021 Baystar Sport June 16, 2021, from Crain RV in Benton AR. Our experience has been the worst we’ve had in all our years of owning an RV. We’ve owned 5 different motor homes from a 40’ diesel to a 25’ sprinter and sizes in between. This is the first brand new RV we have owned and will definitely be the last Newmar. We started having issues on our drive home from buying it. It wasn’t running correctly and struggling to maintain speed on hills and incline, the dash A/C wasn’t cold and it seemed to pull to the right. After contacting the dealer we were told to schedule service at our local Ford dealer. So within the first week of ownership it was in the repair shop and has been constantly in the year we’ve had it. It has been in a repair shop or waiting for repair over 7 months in the first year. Our RV was away at a repair shop consistently for over 6 months. We left it for repair on Jan. 3, 2022 and received it back on June 6, 2022. We have only driven it approximately 4,500 miles for our use. We drove it on 2 trips and had so many problems each time that it wasn’t safe to continue driving it. Now our warranty from Newmar expires in a week and we just received the RV back from its last repair. After complaining to Newmar about this we have been offered a 3 month extension of the factory warranty that they will consider issues that may arise. Even though they are aware that some items in our RV have never worked for our use during our first year of owning it. Two examples are the inverter has never worked and had to be replace along with the motor for the slide. My husband had to push on the outside of the RV while I held the button in for the slide to retract.

We found the coach to be very comfortable for our travels. The pullout table extended for dining, additional prep space, and a place to play cards when it rained. The coach has plenty of cabinet storage, and a residential refrigerator. This helped limit trips to the store. The bathroom and rectangular shower was large enough to be comfortable without banging about. When our grandchildren visited, we found that the jack-knife couch worked perfectly for our guests. Sometimes I slept comfortably on the couch, while the little ones slept with grandma on the king-sized bed! The coach drives well and easily tows our 2020 Buick Envision. The setup is quick and painless. The overall quality is very good. We have not experienced any problems after the delivery warranty repairs were addressed.

Our experience in this RV has been nothing short of extraordinary. The floor plan is like an Airbnb on wheels. We've cooked gourmet meals while enjoying local TV, DVRs and internet accessible streaming. The RV handles great and the tow experience is comfortable. This model looks great and is a cut above many of the coaches on the road. With COVID continuing to challenge travel in the U.S., having a comfortable Newmar Bay Star is the safest way to see America.

I advise you not to buy a Newmar. Quality is poor! The bed broke after second trip, after one person of 140 pounds slept on it. Also, on second trip the battery burned and was smoking as we drove. Hood release was broken so we couldn’t get at the burning battery. This was a safety hazard!! After purchase, the day we went to pick up the rv , the refrigerator needed replacing and automatic front windshield shade didn’t work. Also wind sensor on awning didn’t work. Newmar provides phone support but you can’t get any Newmar dealership to fix broken items for weeks. We bought a brand new Newmar and had to sleep on the floor on a trip due to poor quality bed that broke. We were expecting better quality otherwise we would not have bought a Newmar. This rv brand is NOT what is advertised in terms of quality except for the cabinetry!!
