We have been long, long time campers. My first trip was with my family when I was 11 from Chicago to the World's Fair in Seattle in 1964. Never turned back from there. Pop ups, trailers up to 38 feet, Class C Motorhome. When we decided to move up to a Class A coach, we did a lot of research. We got down to Newmar and Tiffin. The Newmar floor plans and innovations sold us on them. Then we settled in on the floorplan that worked best for us, the 3412. We chose it for the length: It was large enough to have all the amenities we wanted and short enough to get into almost all state and national park campgrounds. We chose the 3412 floorplan because it included a queen sofa sleeper and a super comfortable recliner, both of which face the 50" televator TV. We also wanted a four person booth dinette to accommodate guests. We bought our 2020 Ventana 3412 in June of 2020. It was built in the Newmar plant in Nappanee in May 2020. We had been looking for the longest time for a used 3412 without success. Our dealer in Orlando, Independence RV had three new Ventana coaches in stock so we went to have a look. We fell in love with our Chateau decor Ventana. We had the normal little things that needed adjustment. Independence RV did a great job of getting things fixed. There was a recall on the vent windows delaminating and we got two with the problem fixed in Denver while traveling and two others back in Orlando when we finished our trip. We traveled in the Ventana for three of the six months we owned it in 2020 during Covid. It was really easy to find campsites wherever we went. Our 2021 trip was over seven months and we covered a lot of the mid section of the country. Booking campsites was a little harder this time. In 2022 we did two three month trips up the east coast as far as Philly on one. Then went up the east central US for the second. The coach is a delight. It drives like a dream. The panoramic vista through the front windshield is absolutely spectacular. And because it is a diesel pusher, it is super, super quiet. Only wind noise on the windshield. It is a perfect coach for two people-it feels like home or at least like a Residence Inn. Our coach has all the bells and whistles- all electric with Oasis Hydronic heating for the water, the floors and a furnace for when the temp drops below 40 degrees. Induction cooktop, dishwasher, a convection microwave, washer and dryer, a safe. The Whirlpool residential electric refrigerator/freezer has It has Newmar's Comfort Drive Steering system that is adjustable so you get just the right amount of "feel" you need based on your driving situation. It even has hot water in the front generator compartment that really makes a difference when you are trying to get the day's crop of bugs off the windshield and front cap. As we were considering the coach, my wife insisted she did not want a washer and dryer. After our first trip, she realized she couldn't live without it. Honestly, we use the dishwasher to store wine most of the time. The shower has a WaterMiser system that circulates the water from the water tank through the on demand Oasis system in a loop. There is an indicator button just below the shower control handle that changes color to let you know that the hot water is at the shower. Saves precious water when you are running from your fresh tank and don't want to needlessly fill the grey tank. This is a top quality motor coach. There are even courtesy lights along the floor path from the master bedroom to the bathroom for those late night trips. This is the perfect coach for two people. Fine to have two guests for short people. All the maintenance has been done by the dealer or by Freightliner Oasis dealers. It is up to date and ready for your next adventure!

Bought the RV 4 weeks ago it had a broken window, was told it would be in within a few days. First time taking it out the jacks made a large popping sound when retracting. No working fridge, No AC working, No Working TVs, No working Microwave, No Charge back to the batteries. I took it back to service they looked it over stated they were waiting for Newmar to authorize the warranty work. I bought my new coach from See Grins RV in Gilroy CA. They told me that I would be fine to plug into a campsite plugged into the RV hookup. And again, the unit failed. And nothing worked.I took it back to the dealer and cancelled camp trip. And they said they would get right on it. And again that they were waiting for Newmar to authorize for the repair. Called up and talked to Steve at Newmar customer service and he said " he is getting involved and that the parts would go out next day air and not to worry." Another 3-4 days have gone by contacted the dealer again they stated " They do not have authorization for the parts." Since the customer service agent said he was going to take care of this I can not believe that the miscommunication between the dealer and the manufacturer has been this much of a mess. I talked to Erica my Newmar specialist and she stated that she would call the dealership to make sure they knew that the repair was authorized. My authorization number is 276306 so I do not understand how could a brand new coach that is in the $400,000 range could have these issues? I would think that when they are new that they are tested and make sure they are safe for customer to take them. I consider this a safety violation because there is no charge back from the both house and chassis batteries from the inverter. I'm very disappointed in the service I am receiving and overall the quality of the unit because of the issues I have outlined above.

This is our 4th Newmar (Bay Star, Canyon Star, Ventana) and now another Ventana. Canyon Star (gas) at 40 feet just didn’t have enough power for our needs. Had a few minor problems but all fixed on the rigs but we have talked to lots of folks over the last 15 years on the road and every brand has their share of problems. There is not a brand out there without issues. Some are production problems, some like a/c units are model problems and some are definitely owner caused problems. We have not had problems with getting it serviced but we did have a service writer that did not listen to us (twice,)but you will find that anywhere. Yes, next one will probably be a Newmar unless Winnebago management ruins the company. Yes, we have friends that swear by their Winnebago Horizons and others that swear at them!
