Overall with the quality of workmanship I would have to give Sandpiper an D. We purchased a Sandpiper luxury fifth wheel about five months ago and have had it set up at the RV park for the past month. First thing I noticed was water leaking around the shower door. As I investigated it does not appear that the shower door was caulked properly allowing water from inside the shower to go under the door and out onto the floor. It does not appear that there was any caulking put underneaththe bottom rail to prevent any water getting under the rail and out onto the floor. I had to re-caulk the entire bottom rail of the shower door short of pulling the whole shower door out caulking the bottom then reinstalling everything. Second issue was with the toilet worked for a couple of days then when you flush the toilet no water would fill the bowl. Figured it was probably a valve problem so I pulled the valve out and found the valve was broken. So I had to replace that. Next issue was leakage from the kitchen sink down into the storage area below. At first it appeared to be water leaking from the 90° connection for the hoses but as I investigated more I found that the water connections to the sink itself were not tight and were leaking. When I spend $90,000 I expect to get good quality for the money. I understand to some this may seem minor and to the manufacturer it may seem minor however again when you spend $90,000 and don’t have the opportunity just to run your fifth wheel back into the shop to get it fixed I should not have to fix these things myself because of poor quality in the manufacturing process where it would appear the people putting the unit together in the first place don’t really care or there’s really no quality control before the units roll out of the factory. I’m stuck with this unit at this point but I can guarantee I will never buy another forest river product again.

I am BEYOND appalled and extremely DISGUSTED that forest river would sell and yet again allow these piles of CRAP to be put on the road!! My daughter is a nurse / respiratory therapist. My son in law was doing very well in his profession. With the Covid outbreak my daughter was recruited by several hospitals across the nation to help circumvent the pandemic. They decided that he would put his career on hold temporarily so that she could do everything possible to help in this crisis. So they sold their house and bought this lovely RV to travel from state to state. The lovely Sandpiper forest river 5th wheel ended up being a very POLLUTED Nightmare !!! Let me explain... right now they are stranded in Apache Junction AZ. because after my son in law was flushing the black water tank in preparation to leave, the whole tank FELL off! Taking wires and everything else with it!! Now can you imagine what would have happened if they had been on a highway and this would or should I say it would’ve come off?!? People could’ve or would’ve died! SO my daughter cannot get to her next assignment and people could indirectly die because of this!!! They have had NOTHING but problems with this piece of s—t since they bought it. From leaky plumbing, cheap craftsmanship which results in breakdowns and I could go on and on! Plus you can absolutely COUNT ON the least amount of assistance and customer service possible!!!You HAVE been warned!!!! Buy one of these after reading this and it’s on YOU!!! And may God bless! Good luck! Also if you are driving down the highway and encounter an RV that has Sandpiper on it, GET AWAY from it ASAP!! These things should be banned from the road and actually should be condemned from human occupancy! Again you’ve been warned!! Another thing, if you value your life, buy tires GOOD tires ASAP! Even if it’s brand new because the the cheap ones don’t last. After only 4000 miles one blew out and damaged the side of that piece of ... well you know what. It should be illegal for them to be on the road! Oh plus I hear that there’s a recall on them. What does THAT tell you?!?! Should I say more? I should hope not!

I have 249 wattS coming through my 120 because it is wired wrong from the Factory. I called Forest River and they said I had to pay for a Diagnoses out of my own pocket. I spent $60,000 on this RV and I am afraid it is going to catch on FIRE. No call backs, nothing. It is like my RV got hit by LIGHTING and it is toast. I got nothing.. FOREST RIVER WILL NOT EVEN CALL ME. I AM COMPLETELY LOST! WHAT IF I STAY THERE AND IT CATCHES ON FIRE AND I DIE!!

It just holds pressure until the hose is taken loose. -Black water tank will not completely empty. This is a brand new camper and all these problems have turned up after two weeks of ownership. I contacted Forest River and was told they would pass along my concerns and issues to the GM, Plant Manager and Quality Control. HA! Really? No response from Forest River! I am extremely disappointed and frustrated in my experience so far.

I purchased a 5th wheel from Gander RV Outdoor in Marion Illinois. When I found the floor plan and size I liked I asked the salesman (Beau) if this unit is a 4 season unit. I told him I live in central Illinois and "I am looking for a 5th wheel that I can live in the entire year. I need a 4 season unit." Is this unit a four season unit"? His response was yes sir it is. He began pointing all the features that he said made it a 4 season unit, Heated Holding Tanks, Heated under belly. After I bought the unit I called Forest River and they informed me I cannot expect to stay in the unit below 32 degrees without the pipes freezing. They told me it "is not a 4 seasons camper". This was just the beginning of the lies that were told to me just to get a sale. Prior to taking delivery I purchased from the store a upgraded toilet and washer/dryer to be installed. I also did a walk around with the service technician and identified items that needed to be repaired and or replaced. The tech made a list It took 4 weeks to receive and install the washer/dryer. Gander RV called me and said that my RV was ready for pick up. When I arrived I asked specifically for the service tech that I had worked with when I did the walk around. I asked him "did the items on our list get repaired"? He looked me in the eye and said yes sir. I asked who worked on it. He said "I did". I asked him where is the list he told me "I do not know", "it must be with the other paper work". I told him "I remember what was on the list let's take a look." Item #1) the side door was bent, #2) several window shades would not work (retract), #3) exterior trim screws were missing. There were other items on the list and none of them were done. I looked at the service tech said "you lied to me, none of the items are done are they" he said "no". I asked to see the service manager. He said they would get right on it. They proceeded to pull one door after the next from other units to replace the bent door and they all had loose hinges that would not allow the door to close properly. I was told they would have to order a door from the factory. I still have window shades that will not go up and down properly, electrical fan switch that does not work that was on the list. They installed the wrong toilet that I purchased extra. This they did finally replace. I pulled the unit home and parked it to live in. The rear air conditioner does not function properly. Now of all things the grey water and black water holding tanks fell out. This camper was just sitting there and if fell out. It pulled all of the plumbing loose. I cannot live in this unit. So far the contacts I have made with the Forest River and with Gander RV Outdoor have yielded no assistance. The additional service agreements that were purchased have yielded nothing to this point. My recommendation is to never buy Forest River products and do not buy from Gander RV. Neither company cares about what they sell, neither company will stand behind the product they sell. There is no engineering behind the Forest River product. They used a 1" x 3/4" strip of plywood to support two holding tanks that static weight when full weighs well over 500 pounds. What else did they under design to save money? DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS unless you have plenty of money to throw away.

I went on line and what's there is for older units nothing for new campers. Next the problems I've found is poor quality control in the factory like crushed duct work, weather stripping not installed, molding felling off and the laminate lifting off the floor. I found these thing's before I even used this trailer. The 5th wheel is New never used and I have all these problems customer service said that's why there is a warranty. I guess to hell with quality and customer service.

I just purchased this 5th wheel and found a page of problems. From the living room floor delamination around the heat vent(poor design in placement). The right side slideout sticks sometimes it doesn't work these are just some of the big problems. Very poor design kitchen cabinets can't fit a dish in it to me this makes mo sense at all. The camper is wired for satellite but NO place to put the receiver. The Bedroom is nice to look at lots of cabinets it all good till you want to go to bed, like 6 inches of room between the wall and mattress again who designed this has he NEVER camped before or used a 5th wheel? I have only had this camper 2 weeks and have all these problems oh No owners manual, l was told by forestriver it's on line that B.S I paid good money for this unit and sure didn't think forestriver would treat a loyal customer this way. I have owned forestriver Rockwood a d it was great. So now I am questioning the quality of Forestriver products and there quality control at the factory.I was told on the phone that's what the warranty is for. You judge for your self, I am very disappointed.
