We bought this RV new and it was our first 5th Wheel. We especially liked the large closet, round shower, large refrigerator/freezer, and great storage. One thing we noticed with Rockwood was a lot of things that are extra in other RVs was standard in ours. For example, ceiling fan in living room area, two fantastic fans in bathroom and kitchen area, solar equipped, electric/propane water heater, lazy boy recliners, and a rear carrier are just some of the extras. I really liked the Reese revolution hitch that rotated at the trailer instead of the fifth wheel. I have a short bed truck and can make 90 degree turns without ever worrying about hitting my truck with the trailer. I upgraded the tires because the factory tires are not rated for speeds over 60 mph. It is a great trailer but our health has reached the point that we can't travel in an RV any longer. But I would highly recommend this fifth wheel. I have talked to very few RVers who have found a great dealer to maintain their rig although I kept looking. A lot of things can be fixed yourself if you have any mechanical knowledge. Good luck on your RV adventure and we wish all of you the wonderful time we have had with ours.

We bought this trailer new in 2018. We have pulled this trailer to several different states. Problem with this trailer is after each trip we had to take back to shop. Sink fell out twice, slide outs were miss aligned and messed up floor, heater had part fall off and get in squirrel cage. This trailer as I found out the last shop visit had a camber issue which could explain the 3 blow outs I had as well as a stress crack on shell both sides. We were never sure what would break each outing. At this time I would like to say rock wood did fix the camber issues and replaced both sides of trailer, they are great at backing there product. Happy to say after 5 months in shop I finally got back. Trading this trailer in and hopefully getting something better.

We bought a new ,unused, 8298ws in October 2019. Due to the time of year we stored camper until spring.when opening camper one blind had come down, screws pulled out. 1 interior light did not work, wires had come disconnected,1 exterior light does not work. We are hoping that our first camping trip doesn't turn up more problems. We did contact dealer, but we realize it's out of warranty. We know it was never used as we contacted the previous owner and they never used it traded for a motorhome. I would only rate the camper at 3.5 out of 5 right now. We love the layout and annemities,we'll see.

Pulled this camper all over South-East US and the aerodynamics could be better. Braking system had chafing wire which shorted out braking wires making trailer brakes inoperable and thankfully my truck could handle the stopping effort.

We bought this RV in Dec 2016. Took it out for the maiden voyage on Memorial day and a lot of things went wrong. The fridge panels fell off during the trip, globe from light fell off broke, many screws have been found and on the following trips we have taken, blinds have broken, the trim molding is coming off, we recv'd a panel control recall even before camping season started and then was told after driving it an hour back to the dealer that it would take 6 weeks for parts to arrive. The glass over the stove top lost a hinge pin, mini fridge in outdoor kitchen is not attached properly and has now scratched the counter top. Couch is not screwed down and moves. There are many little things that keep happening and has not set right in the fact we spent so much money on something and there are many things that keep breaking on it.

I replaced it with my own and it keeps my drinks cold. Other than the mini fridge issue my floor had a hole the size of my thumb in the kitchen. Dealership fixed it and looks great. The stab jacks work well my last RV stab jacks wouldnt stabelize but these seem to work well Fridge inside the trailer is huge compared to most. The sound system inside and out sounds good for an RV especially compared to others i have seen. One thing i wish it had was on the outside there is a Coax TV Connection for the antenna i think they need to have a connection for the DVD Player and have a spot to hang the TV on the outside. Plenty of storage inside probably twice as much as my old 28' trailer had. The outside storage looks small but it holds a lot more as well. I was amazed with how much i could stuff in there and still have room.
