We bought this RV new and it was our first 5th Wheel. We especially liked the large closet, round shower, large refrigerator/freezer, and great storage. One thing we noticed with Rockwood was a lot of things that are extra in other RVs was standard in ours. For example, ceiling fan in living room area, two fantastic fans in bathroom and kitchen area, solar equipped, electric/propane water heater, lazy boy recliners, and a rear carrier are just some of the extras. I really liked the Reese revolution hitch that rotated at the trailer instead of the fifth wheel. I have a short bed truck and can make 90 degree turns without ever worrying about hitting my truck with the trailer. I upgraded the tires because the factory tires are not rated for speeds over 60 mph. It is a great trailer but our health has reached the point that we can't travel in an RV any longer. But I would highly recommend this fifth wheel. I have talked to very few RVers who have found a great dealer to maintain their rig although I kept looking. A lot of things can be fixed yourself if you have any mechanical knowledge. Good luck on your RV adventure and we wish all of you the wonderful time we have had with ours.

We bought a new ,unused, 8298ws in October 2019. Due to the time of year we stored camper until spring.when opening camper one blind had come down, screws pulled out. 1 interior light did not work, wires had come disconnected,1 exterior light does not work. We are hoping that our first camping trip doesn't turn up more problems. We did contact dealer, but we realize it's out of warranty. We know it was never used as we contacted the previous owner and they never used it traded for a motorhome. I would only rate the camper at 3.5 out of 5 right now. We love the layout and annemities,we'll see.

We bought this RV in Dec 2016. Took it out for the maiden voyage on Memorial day and a lot of things went wrong. The fridge panels fell off during the trip, globe from light fell off broke, many screws have been found and on the following trips we have taken, blinds have broken, the trim molding is coming off, we recv'd a panel control recall even before camping season started and then was told after driving it an hour back to the dealer that it would take 6 weeks for parts to arrive. The glass over the stove top lost a hinge pin, mini fridge in outdoor kitchen is not attached properly and has now scratched the counter top. Couch is not screwed down and moves. There are many little things that keep happening and has not set right in the fact we spent so much money on something and there are many things that keep breaking on it.
