2016 Newmar Class A - Gas reviews

This motorhome is designed for anyone who is handicap. My wife and I have enjoyed this coach because with the wheelchair lift as well as the great room with all three slides inside you can easily move from the front to the back to help someone into bed. The shower is wheelchair accessible, the bathroom sink and the kitchen table is great for someone in a wheelchair. I lost my wife last October so this is the reason I'm selling it. It's such a beautiful with all the bells and whistles you would want. Show less

Number 1. Don’t believe the salesman. We read and searched for 14 months before we finally bought our unit. While I really wanted to buy a Tiffin (#1 In premium class) I couldn’t find one that met our needs. So we settled for the Newmar (#2 In premium class). While we have been generally happy, support from Newmar corporate has not been what was expected for a premium class rv corporation. But now that they have been purchased by Winnebago (regular class) their customer service has suffered. Recent issue was leatherette furniture. Reviews before we purchased indicated a problem with the pleather furniture basically unraveling. Our salesman told that yes, this was an issue but was confined to 2011 to 2014 models. WRONG! We use our rv about six to seven weeks a year and then it is light use. So, if you equated it to warranty we should be good for 10 years for a one year warranty . Well, the leatherette started unraveling about a year ago. We reached out to Newmar about the issue and they gave us five options, all which required us to pay to fix this issue. A couple of thousands of dollars. We were out of warranty plain and simple. So lesson learned. Do NOT believe the salesman and buy a Tiffin next time. This is an excellent coach! I've never seen a better floor plan for the money. So spacious and drives like a dream. All the furnishings are so luxurious and there are more than enough storage areas both inside and underneath. Our family of five have traveled in this as well as just my wife and I and we have always been more than pleased with this coach. Show less

We purchased our 2016 Canyon Star 3710 new and have driven it approx 25,000 miles. 5 years later we are very happy with our purchase. It has been extremely reliable. Our only issues have been replacing one toilet and glueing back some corner trim pieces that came loose in the California desert heat. The coach structure and Ford F-53 26k chassis have have had no issues. We have driven thru the Sierras and the Cascades with ease. It does slow down at altitude but nothing that concerns us. It tows our Jeep Patriot easily. We did update the suspension with Koni FSD shocks and bigger anti-sway bars which made it ride smoother and handle better. We love the L-shaped sofa and the second half-bath comes in handy when we take the grandkids with us. Our only wish would be for a 3rd slide to create more space in the living room. Show less

We have been in love w this coach from day one. Floor plan is perfect for us. We have had some small detailing issues that we did NOT have on our previous Newmar, 2006 Mountainaire. That said, they were adjusted immediately upon identification. Newmar customer Service is second to none. What has not been addressed is wiring issues. They have plagued us from day one and continue to this day. Our unit evidently was not wired according to the schematic for this unit. Once we began having problems it was not possible to fix because wires did NOT correspond to schematic. In defense of Newmar, they have offered to make it right at the factory but we must pay to make the trip there. Amid Covid, we have been unwilling to make the trip and then find some place to be during the day while they work on the unit. Show less

We loved this RV. We traded in a 27 foot Class A for it. For full-timing this was perfect for us. As neither of us are handy, we wanted something easy to maintain. Gas worked well as it was quite a bit less expensive to maintain than diesel, even though climbing mountains was slower. We chose the Newmar as it was very highly rated in quality. We stayed in many Military RV campgrounds and barely noticed jets flying directly overhead. It stayed cool in hot weather and warm in cold weather. I wish the kitchen had more counter space as I love to cook, so that was a sacrifice. The king bed was exceptionally comfortable. Apart from some minor repairs, we've had no problems with this lovely girl. We are sorry to have to sell due to health reasons after only 3 years, and we can't imagine someone loving this RV as much as we do. I think this is a perfect time to sell as less people will want to fly or stay in hotels along the way. Show less

Not winterized /water pours from inside shower to ground outside /lift stuck up or down mid air/driver seat replaced and moves during drive / ants ceiling. Bedroom walls,floor/ Not cleansed after use .Check Repair Invoices Buyer hire a licensed RV Inspection. Show less

Appreciate quality of design and build. Especially cabinets, and 4 season insulation. It is great to be able to call Newmar for support. Tows small car without even noticing. Floorplan super for 2 people, for example tv is across from couch. Less adaptable to 4 or more people, not having area to sit around and see each other. Show less

My wife and I love this 28' RV because we can get into places that many of the larger rigs can't. It has plenty of power allowing us to flat tow a vehicle for ease in exploring larger cities. It is comfortable to drive and park yet has a great floorplan that makes extended stays of longer than several months enjoyable as well. The high-quality manufacturing processes of Newmar is everything we had hoped for when we purchased it. To sum it up - both my wife and I agree that almost as soon as we get home from a trip, we start talking about when we can go on our next adventure. Show less

We love the floor plan and when we were shopping this was the only manufacturer that offered it. Now several manufacturers offer a similar floor plan. We love the king bed, sofa and bathroom layout. This model also had the largest freshwater, black and gray tank capacity of any in it's class at the time we bought.. Driving and towing is fine. It's not a Ferrari or luxury car so you shouldn't expect it to ride nor handle like it's one. We also found in our research and shopping that Newmar is top quality among RV manufacturers. That being said I only gave 4 stars because I think all RV manufacturers could do a better job on overall quality. Newmar was great in honoring their warranty.. Only give 3 stars for warranty because it's only a one year warranty. Show less
