2015 Heartland 5th Wheel reviews

Our toy hauler is a beautiful camper but lots of problems. Both decks have cracked and could cause terrible damage to a human falling through. We repeatedly took our camper back to the dealership with lots of complaints that were never repaired. At the beginning, we had several lights that didn’t work, the TV port doesn’t work, one propane tank doesn’t work, and here we are now facing the cheap material peeling off all of the recliners. I probably could go on and on, but I would never recommend Camper to anyone. Right now I’m dealing with the toy hauler deck that has hardly ever been used soft and rotten and splitting the outside of the camper. The side deck is doing the same thing. I have searched class action lawsuits with no luck. Show less

We quite enjoy the layout! Having the extra large bedroom slide allows for ample closet and storage space. The only caveat being when you travel it's wise to move heavy items to the rear central floor. Quality. Many things are good but... within a year the bedroom slide floor was totally soft. Factory said bring it to them but that was unreasonable. Local repair shops wanted $4k plus - ridiculous. We self fixed under $200. Just like a boat, you need some ingenuity. Kitchen floor under the fridge also rotted due to the manufacturers use of garbage water line to the ice maker which called in the first year. Replaced with braided stainless and no problems since. All the caulking was garbage so we redid the entire unit. Full paint job is cracking mostly on dark paint surfaces. Keep on waxing! Overhead rear clearance light fell off and is impossible to find a replacement. Darn. My recommendation would be only purchase if you know how to fix lots of stuff! And good luck! FYI, our previous fiver was a Holiday Rambler Presidential 5 slide. Just as many issues plus it burnt down due to a fridge fire. Double darn! Show less

The 2015 3160 Bighorn EL is the best 5th wheel we have ever owned. We have had it for six years and have had minimal problems. Things operate as they should. I see that others have not been so fortunate. Replaced wiper and bulb seals on the hydrolic slide outs myself, no big problem. Most of my issues with the coach have been self inflicted. Replaced one topper so far, no big deal. I had a leak with the selector valve that goes from tank to city ect. the problem there was one does not select from one position to the other under pressure. The o rings will fail. Ordered a new valve and was back in business in about 20 minutes. I could have used the old valve as there is an o ring that is not in use and can be used to replace a damaged one. Anyway, we love our Bighorn and would not hesitate to buy another. Show less

We bought it new .Day one one cabinet door it fell off ,nail almost going through the roof that’s the first day. Awning had to be replace,stove pilot light quit working,all 4 shocks leak,power cord had to be replace almost cause a fire all plastic on furniture coming off. That’s the beginning .Many other things to write about. I will never buy another Heartland product. I had some junky trailers before this and the were better. Show less

We bought this pos new and had nothing but trouble with it. Front slide broke on first trip and almost fell out while moving, shower glass shattered, wrong door on inside cabinet, no header on bedroom door, black water tank fell loose because of cheap straps $900 to repair, siding delaminating Fireplace fell out, not attached to wall. Refrigerator not properly attached. Plus many little problems. Customer service at plant sucks so called corporate they contacted Heartland who told us to email all the problems. No matter how many times I tried they "never received it". I will never buy anything from them again. Show less

This RV has been a dream to own and live in. I looked at over a hundred units and before i found this floor plan and once I saw it, I knew it was for me. It has a very large residential style fridge and an open concept. Best of all you don't have to squeeze through or around a shower of bathroom to get to the Master bedroom. I'm a pretty big guy and the normal sized tub and shower are a must for full time living. And of course, it has all the amenities for camping, cooking, and parties. Show less

We purchased a 2015 Heartland 3270RS Bighorn new off the lot after we had looked at them in RV Shows. We fell in love with the floor plan and the durability of the coach. We have had few problems like bedroom slide not operating correctly but after taking it to the dealer and they could not figure out what was wrong as it never did it again, we experienced the same issue once again and I self diagnosed the problem as a loose twisted wire with a wire nut that was not very well secure making intermediate contact. (Fixed) Slide toppers are after market so I can't fault the manufacture but the dealer did a poor job of installation. The biggest problem we have had is a crack in the fireglass above the rear slide toward the front of the coach, it ends up being a weld within the frame of the RV that has come unwelded, we had to have the slide removed, and internal walls disassembled to re-weld the aluminum weld, and then have the fiberglass repaired, we thought that after a $6,000 bill it was behind us well, the crack has re-appeared but the shop we had to work done warratines the work so its back into the shop again to see what the repair will be. I contacted Heartland but they did not return my requests for reimbursements of the repairs. When you purchase a high end RV you expect it to be of good quality and will last a long time, 5 years is not a long time, we don't manhandle our RV and do not take it off road so it was unexpected that we have a crack in the fiberglass, it needs to be repaired or it would lead to water infiltration and then delamination. I am happy with the RV as it is the right size and comfort for us but the high cost of repairs puts a pinch in our enjoyment of our travels wondering what will break next. Show less

First should I say buyer beware! We purchased our gateway in 2015 and have had nothing but problems. The tires were terrible and too low rated for such a heavy unit. We had our first blowout which damaged the side of the unit and caused delamination. There is delamination all over the unit. The air conditioner stopped working the first year which fortunately that was still under warranty. The tv and dvd system has never worked properly. I would never recommend anyone purchasing anything heartland! Heartland should do a recall on every single gateway unit and fix them. We paid way too much for this hunk of junk for it to have such shotty workmanship. Oh and the inverter works only half of the time. Perhaps we as heartland owners should get together and force heartland to make good on their product! We have just recently decided to put it in a permanent location and put a cover over it, hopefully this thing will last until we pay it off. Show less

This has been a great RV to us for the past 6 years. This is our 2nd Heartland. We have camped in hot Texas weather and cold Minnesota weather with no issues keeping comfortable. We would recommend this unit. Show less
