2015 Forest River Cedar Creek Hathaway 5th Wheel reviews

I bought the trailer while still active duty in the military in 2015. We had been living in a 32 ft Denali, which leaked air through the slide-outs bad enough you couldn't keep even the largest of flying insects from coming through the gaps. I chose Cedar Creek 38 CK because it had the washer and dryer in the bedroom slide out, which makes for a much roomier front closet and overall floor plan in the bedroom. As convenient as this seemed at first, it turned out to be a problem which required the slide out floor and external floor to be replaced. Although I have had to make numerous small repairs and modifications on a fairly regular basis (everything from replacing the sliding tracks on the pantry and garbage compartment drawers, replacing the ceiling fan, repairing and replacing the fireplace internal components, to placing angle iron braces underneath the floor to keep the plastic under- compartment panels from falling off while driving down the road) . Since purchasing it I and my wife have lived in the trailer primarily full time, and I must say, that overall, we really like this trailer. The overall quality of the trailer seems to be excellent in comparison to most other fifth wheel travel trailers I have both owned and observed. It holds heat really well, even in the most extreme winter weather. I did end up putting vents around the base of the bed, and in the steps leading up to the bedroom in order to allow for warm-air circulation which definately helps to keep poorly placed water lines from freezing. Likely, the biggest problem I have had is a premature aging of the roofing material. As I could not afford the convenience of a once in a lifetime fiberglass treatment, I simply coated the entire roof with three thick coats of white Flex Seal. So far, it seems to be working. Although the roof never leaked, it certainly would have had I waited much longer. The factory rubber roofing material is supposed to last at least 10 years, it barely made eight. It was developing soft spots and a rough enough texture that it couldn't be cleaned easily without risking tearing the material. Every time I have spoken to the factory about any type of repair or problem, they have always told me I need to bring the trailer to them. This seems to be an avoidance tactic that has worked well enough for the company that they continue to do it. Show less

great winter ho me 4season heated tanks when needed.really enjoyable to stay in. resendential frig with ice maker fantactic. use a lot of ice when camping. easy tow. 2 ac units keep 5er cool. king bed wonderful. Show less

This 5th wheel is just like new and dually truck is like new too. With everything being automatic makes easy to set up. I just want to try out a motorhome for awhile and there's nothing wrong with either vehicles. Show less

Love our Cedar Creek 36CKTS. Very livable for long term. Had a few problems but our dealer made the repairs very promptly. Took a long time looking at all the other fifth wheels and already owned SOB. The Cedar Creek is very well made and comes with highly rated tires, axles and leveling system. Would not hesitate to buy another Cedar Creek. Show less

From a male point of view: This is very manageable while towing as it is equipped with an air ride on the hitch and makes for a smooth ride. Parking and set up is a breeze due to the automatic hydraulic leveling system, just a push of a button and you're done! The dual reclining theatre seats with cup holders are perfect for viewing the game on the big flat screen television. Storage is abundant underneath. From a female point of view: this is the perfect home away from home. Very spacious and liveable. Has double stainless steel sinks in the huge island, with under cabinet led lights, adjacent the stove with above mount microwave. A pantry lined with drawer shelving that completely pull out allowing you to see and store what you need. A full size, double door, stainless refrigerator will hold all the food you need. A large family could enjoy a meal surrounding the table and bar with no problem of crowding. Equipped with a central vacuum makes it a breeze to clean up, just sweep kitchen and open vent or attach long hose and vacuum carpet. Families will absolutely LOVE the one and 1/2 bathrooms! The half bath is downstairs and the HUGE master bathroom is so spacious! The shower has a built in seat with removable spray and glass doors. A linen closet as well as a large closet with built in shelving with lights and hook up for washer is in the bath. Beautiful mirrored doors close giving you the feeling of even more room. The master bedroom has a 6 drawer dresser with television above and top of the line queen mattress. This is truly a place you could live in. Show less

Excellent unit high quality top of line live-in unit, Just like home , with full size frig. King size bed and huge bath with large shower. Lots of closet space, and large storage space for all you gear. Show less
