Wide-open space and easy to move around even if the slides are closed. Inside finishes were well made and sturdy. The finish on the outside of the coach was also well done. Easy access to the wet bay and electrical systems. Driveability is a little challenging. Due to the size, a lot of movement when being passed by large trucks or on a very windy day. Too much air in the tires makes it completely undrivable.
The worse thing about these coaches, you will see it in almost every ad, are the leveling jacks. A lot of them have been replaced and you may be ok. If not run. Run! These cannot be rebuilt. IF you can find the parts, each jack will set you back 1500-2000. The master pump will also go our- another $2000.
Overall a great coach but I could not stomach $10k in the leveling jacks only for them to possibly go out again.

Extra closet in the hallway is fantastic and also love the quality built cupboards and interior walls. Drawers for clothing are deep and much bigger than what is found in newer RVs. The desk area and storage were some of the main features that drew us to this home. Overall, both mechanically and the living area, have made our travels a great experience!

This Winnebago is truly a condo (or man cave) on wheels. Spacious enough to enjoy by ourselves or roomy enough to have company over for a meal, it is a true home away from home. The visibility when driving or riding in it is superb. More than once, my husband almost got up while driving to get something out of the refrigerator. His words: it is fun to drive and the most comfortable seat he has ever sat in behind the wheel. We have boon docked without losing any lack of comfort thanks to the generator. From Dark Sky Astronomy Parties to book conventions to a cross-country trip with our grandson, the Winnebago has more than enough room for anything you want to take. We’ve towed both a Honda CRV and a Jeep Cherokee with no issues. From the Florida Keys to Canada and back, we’ve never had any issues - only a great time. Whether you want to live full-time on the road or just enjoy getting away, this RV knows how to make it fun!

The 2008 Winnebago Journey 39Z is a safe, well constructed upper end motor coach. It's not a "luxury" coach but it does have above average amenities. With a Cummins/Allison combination on a Freightliner XC Chassis the coach has a solid and reliable foundation. Winnebago incorporated design features that set the Journey apart from other coaches such as a one piece fiberglass roof, a home style "basement" HVAC heat pump system for cooling and heating, md-coach bathroom location, and attractive upscale cabinetry.
The Journey is not a difficult coach to drive and operate provided the owner studies the manual and gets familiar with the systems. The 39Z is relatively easy to maneuver and has sufficient power to operate in high elevations.
The Winnebago Journey 39Z like any coach, has design and systems that should have/could have been done differently or improved but overall is in the upper end of the RV spectrum and will provide a owner with years of safe and reliable transportation.
