2006 Fleetwood reviews

We purchased our "Bertha" as second owners two years ago, and it is our first Class A experience. The original owner took pretty good care of this ol' girl, and installed a lot of extra goodies which I'll cover in a bit. We've spent 28 nights in it, and have driven it more than 6,500 miles. We're pretty easy-going, so we don't usually notice some things that others may want to nit-pick. Having said that, we've learned a few things along the way that (if we could) would fix. To begin with, our 8.1 Duramax gasoline engine is more than up to any task we put to it, but the noise! I guess this is to be expected with a forward control coach, but even cruising at around 2,000 RPM in top gear (a bit over 60 mph) listening to the radio impossible. My co-pilot (my wife, not the cat) and I find ourselves shouting to each other to be heard, so convivial conversation along the way is out of the question. The windshield "visor" (which functions more like a privacy screen when in camp, doesn't roll down all the way to the instrument panel. Leaves about a 6 inch gap which, when standing outside, is about eye-height. One other thing is, nit-picking aside, merely bothersome: The bedside lamps are in a goofy position that precludes sitting propped up in bed to read the paper and jointly enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning (again, not with the cat). Finally, and I suppose this is just the fact that "Bertha" is getting a little long in the tooth, is the rattles. I've crawled under, over, and inside as far as I can go into the coach, but I'm unable to find what the heck causes all those rattles somewhere in the front of us! Nothing appears loose, and everything functions as it should, but a pavement seam or slightly sunken maintenance cover in the street sends a shiver through the ol' gal and makes us want to look for NBW or parts on the floor. In all, we love our Bounder. The split bathroom is a great idea -- we wish our previous tow-behinds had this, instead of giving no knee room when on the throne! Despite the engine noise, she rides quietly and smoothly. Nothing beyond the instrument panel rattles, and everything works as advertised. The amount of storage space in the living area is great, and the basement storage is far more than we've ever needed. Our Bounder rides nicely, steers nicely and has pretty decent 360 degree vision from the flight deck, thanks to mirrors and the rear vision monitor. We tow a 2010 Subaru Forester with a 5-speed manual tranny, with no effort. We got "Bertha" a full spa treatment recently, and now she gleams like new and seems as anxious as we are to start our 3 week September ramble ... including the cat. Show less

Drives easy, good power (we tow a Jeep), Floorplan is very open. We use for 4-person sleeping when son/grandson is with us. Additional 2-person at dining area, and if you wanted a blow-up matress would be easy in the HUGE family area. Like the paint colors. Show less

I have owned 7 RV’s and this has been the best of the best. Very sorry I bought a travel trailer, and selling this beautiful motor home. Everything works as expected and if anything is needed to be looked at we can look at it. I am confident you will love it. Show less

We've owned this RV for over a year and have really enjoyed it. There has been no issues with it. Love it!! Due to the age we installed a new Refrigerator and Microwave and water pump. Engine is a v10 and has 175000 miles on it but runs great and we've drove to Texas from Nebraska and have had no problems. It's very comfortable and it's enjoyable to get away. Show less

I was here because it only had one soft spot. Driving 150 miles to see the RV and left because it had 1 spot on the bedroom and 2 soft spot on the slide out and one on the front. Must be coming from the roof. Also to the price tag they add $1325 dealers fee and $725 cleaning fee befor adding taxes. So this travel trailer is almost $11000. $3000 more than in the advertising on Internet. What a scam company. Show less

The Motorhome drives great and we really liked the larger bathroom and the hallway bypassing the bathroom to the back bedroom. The Bedroom and Living Room large slide really added to the space. The overhead queen and beds from the dinette and sofa really added sleeping space. This basement model has tons of space and one that is a "seethru" bay. The Ford Chassis and Triton V-10 has been very reliable as we owned another vehicle with the same chassis and engine - never had a problem for the 8 years that we owned that Class C. It is ready to go anywhere and we just finished a 2,000 mile trip with 2 adults and 3 kids. Show less

I own this 32' Class A MH, and I love it. It drives like an oversized van. It is spacious and extremely comfortable. Has all the bells and whistles one needs for reliability and comfort. Awesome for Boon Docking..Has a Great Generator and extremely powerful motor to make climbing a breeze. Show less

Great class C with a unique floorplan - the master BR (in back) is blocked off from the front by the Bath, so you get better privacy and sound protection. Two slide outs enhance the already roomy floorplan. We've owned ours for 15 years now and have taken it on many adventures. Show less

Great motor home with plenty of living space. Drives great and is a home away from home for us. It also is great for towing our Jeep. Enjoyed every trip we took with it. Hopefully next owner will enjoy it as much as we did. Show less
