2005 Holiday Rambler Class A - Diesel reviews

This is our fifth RV, 4 motor homes and 1 travel trailer, and the largest of them. Because of health reasons, we only were able to travel about 16,000 miles spanning from Wyoming to Maryland while based in Oklahoma and Texas. We started with a Honda CRV toad and later moved up to a Ford F150. We seldom ever felt the toad while driving. This RV is very easy to handle and the 400 HP Cummins diesel just keeps on chugging down the road. I loved the way the Roadmaster chassis handles curves, with the 8 airbags that keep the coach level. Steering is easy and even in a fairly stiff wind, and you don't have to fight the steering wheel like our earlier gas rigs or the travel trailer. We did replace the mattress with a nice hybrid King that was every bit as comfortable as ou home bed. Nothing like a good nights rest after busy day exploring natures wonders. Show less

Allison transmission and Freightliner Chassis offer a smooth ride. Truly a mobile home. Full size frig allows for stocking up on food. Also plenty of bay storage helps in bringing yard toys along for fun times! rated support low due to limited experience as i bought it outside of warranty period. But do recall reached out once. We traveled extensively for two years in this coach. engine is wonderful, drives excellent, prefer a side mounted radiator, combo washer / dryer works well but is small, would like a dishwasher, mechanical was excellent, Show less

Great floor plan with light cabinets that make for a roomy living experience. We really liked the aqua hot heating in the fall and winter months. This Motorhome was easy to drive and the side cameras helped to keep us safe. Show less

We are the second owners of this HR, and we really enjoy the spacious front area, and the office area in the bedroom allows for work and pleasure to go on at the same time without interfering with the other cabin area. We had the occasion to use HR for some replacement items and found this a simple/painless process from the manufacturer. The storage is awesome and easily accessible. The HR drives awesome, and we are impressed with our overall 8.5-9 mpg at highway speeds of 70+averages. Great coach for the money ! Show less

The ISL 400 hp makes plenty of power and 35 psi of boost with a few mods the floor plan with a bath and a half make it so there's no waiting with kids in the am. It's built like a tank and the duel rear wheels makes it steady on the rd even in wind storms or passing big tractor trailers. Love love love this RV would by it again in a min Show less

New ownership based in FL will not support this model which was owned by Monaco when it went bankrupt. The 400HP engine is marginal power compared to the 500HP Cummins. Show less

This 2005 was finally every thing you could want in comfort and luxury. After over 27 years of RV travel, including full time twice, we knew what was needed to travel every day or stay put for weeks and have a fun, trouble free experience. I could take off tomorrow for Alaska without a worry or I could go to a beach anywhere and park for a year. This motor home has it all. Show less

This is our first Class A so we can't really compare it to anything else so as far as we are concerned it is a very fine coach that has been very enjoyable to own and we are very sure the next owners will enjoy it as well. Show less
